The Ice Bat swarm that had been chasing the bandit leader sensed their companions' crisis and abandoned their prey, descending to the canyon floor.
"Holy shit, that was way too close."
The bandit leader let out a breath of relief. His black bird's wings were both injured—that meant yet another massive medical bill.
This round was a complete loss...
By now, Frost Canyon's two dominant beast factions had launched into all-out war!
"What a show! That was fucking incredible!"
The trio had found a cave in the cliff wall and sat near the entrance, listening to the distant roars and shrieks.
All three clapped and cheered, fully embracing the spectacle with zero concern for the consequences.
The Spirit Suppression soldier above could only twitch the corner of his mouth. He hadn't expected Chen Shu's group to throw Frost Canyon into chaos so effortlessly.
"Maybe I should set up a blacklist..."
He stroked his chin, deep in thought. These three were just trainee Beast Tamers and already THIS unhinged.
Once they actually became powerful? The Alternate Dimensions wouldn't have a moment's peace. How was anyone supposed to survive?
Time passed gradually.
The battle between the two beast factions finally subsided.
Nobody knew how many fierce beasts had died. The canyon floor reeked of blood.
"Show's over. Nothing left to watch."
Chen Shu shrugged and turned toward the cave beside them.
Just as they were about to walk in, two deep blue lights flickered to life inside the darkness, hovering in midair.
"Shit! Fierce beast! Old Xie, why the hell didn't your alarm go off?!"
Chen Shu's body jolted. He barely managed to make out the beast lurking inside.
A Frost Giant Wolf emerged—seven or eight meters long, radiating a terrifying aura. The surrounding temperature plummeted!
"Son of a bitch! It's a LORD!"
Chen Shu's reflexes kicked in instantly. The Slime's body swelled, blocking the cave entrance in a flash.
ROAR!
Blue frost surged forward.
The sleeping Slime's body was coated in ice. It froze solid on the spot.
"Dammit!"
The three scrambled onto the Mutant Thunderbird. Chen Shu recalled his Slime—now an ice sculpture.
A magnificent Frost Giant Wolf strode out of the cave, its terrifying presence unmistakable. Definitely Lord-level!
"Stop wiggling your ass and GO!"
The Mutant Thunderbird had noticed the opponent couldn't fly—so naturally, it had started shaking its butt again...
This wasn't flirting with death anymore. This was straight-up breakdancing on death's doorstep.
ROAR!
The Frost Giant Wolf Lord let out a howl. A blast of frost shot toward them at blinding speed.
The Thunderbird's wiggling ass froze solid in an instant.
SCREECH!
The bird felt its entire rear end go numb. Panic flooded its eyes and its speed EXPLODED, fleeing into the distance.
"Your bird really has a death wish!"
Chen Shu's mouth twitched. The three bolted from the danger zone as fast as they could.
"Goddammit, I nearly had a heart attack!"
The Spirit Suppression soldier above cursed under his breath. He'd almost intervened just now.
These three had the audacity to shit on a Lord-level beast's head.
All three were reckless beyond belief, and that Thunderbird was equally fearless—wiggling its ass at a LORD.
He let out a sigh. "So THESE are Nanjiang Second High's star students?"

After a frantic escape, the trio finally found a safe location.
Inside a cave.
Firelight flickered, pushing back the darkness.
Chen Shu assembled the BBQ grill once more. But this time, what sat on it wasn't beast meat—it was a big yellow ball.
The Slime's body was encased in ice, still frozen solid.
"That was insanely powerful!"
Chen Shu's lip twitched. A single skill from the Frost Giant Wolf Lord had completely locked down his Slime and even dealt real damage.
The fire crackled and hissed, slowly melting the ice.
And right next to the Slime, the Mutant Thunderbird sat pitifully with its butt planted on the grill.
Its rear end was also covered in ice...
"Chen Pi, let's head back up tomorrow. I feel like it's getting way too dangerous down here..."
Whether it was the Ice Bat swarm or the Frost Giant Wolf pack, none of them were opponents the trio could handle. Even escaping had been a close call.

Both friends stared at him. Like they were looking at a terrorist.
"What even IS that thing?"
They instinctively took a step back, eyeing the potion in Chen Shu's hand.
Chen Shu waved it casually. "Relax. It's just a little toy..."
"I'd suggest you move a bit further from the fire..."
Xu Xingxing's mouth twitched. An inexplicable wave of dread washed over him, as if he might spiral straight to heaven any second now.
Chen Shu glanced down. White vapor was rapidly forming inside the vial, bubbling like a chemical reaction.
"Holy shit! It's THIS easy to ignite?!"
He instantly stored the potion back into System Space.
If that thing accidentally went off... just imagining the scene felt poetic...
"Huh? Where'd the potion go?"
Both friends jolted, staring blankly at Chen Shu. The vial had vanished like a magic trick.
"You mortals wouldn't understand. It's because my hand speed is just too fast..."
Chen Shu waved them off dismissively and returned to the fireside, waiting for the Slime to thaw.
The three spent the rest of the night in silence. Without their contract spirits standing guard, none of them dared sleep.
Early the next morning.
All three sported dark circles under their eyes, barely keeping them open.
SCREECH!
A bird cry rang out. The Mutant Thunderbird snapped its wings open in a panic.
"Xiao Xing, your bird is burnt!"
Chen Shu took one look and doubled over laughing.
Xu Xingxing shot back instinctively: "YOUR bird is the one that's burnt!"
Then he looked up. Sure enough, the Thunderbird's butt had turned completely black...
"That should do it."
The ice on the Slime had fully melted too, restoring it to fighting condition.
Xie Sunan yawned. "Chen Pi, you really going through with blowing up the wolf pack?"
"Obviously! I'm a man of my word!"
Chen Shu thumped his chest. "Besides, don't you guys want to finish that mission?"
Both eyed him skeptically. "That potion of yours—can it actually kill a Black Iron Lord?"
Chen Shu wasn't sure either. "Even if it can't kill the Lord, it'll take out the rest of the regular wolves. Then there's only one Lord left!"
"We get Old Shen to step in, and we pocket four million yuan for free!"
Chen Shu wore a scheming grin, as if he'd already gotten his hands on the bounty.
"Would Teacher Shen actually help?"
"Are you stupid? He can't handle an entire beast pack, but one Lord by itself? Easy. You think Old Shen would turn down free money? He's not an idiot!"
Xu Xingxing nodded. "Makes sense! Let's go!"
"Go my ass—I'm exhausted. We wait until tonight when the wolves fall asleep. Let the contract spirits stand guard!"
Chen Shu yawned and crawled into the tent.
Xie Sunan and Xu Xingxing exchanged glances, then changed into their "sleepwear" and passed out immediately.
High above, Shen Wushuang stood atop his Ice Phoenix, completely oblivious to just how insane the trio's plan was.
And Chen Shu had no idea either.
The System's Explosion Potion would turn out to be far, far more terrifying than anything he'd imagined...
