Ch. 59 - Crimson Moon

Tianyang slowly raised his head while his arms gradually lowered, his fingers moving rhythmically to make the numbness caused by the impact quickly disappear.

His gaze fell on the culprit.

The person appeared slightly older, with an exaggerated hairstyle and a tuft of hair dyed bright blue.

His eyes were sharp, continuously roaming over Tianyang, focusing on vulnerable areas of the body.

He looked like a wolf, cold-blooded, cruel, and exuded a dangerous aura.

Tianyang's gaze lingered on the Lieutenant's epaulets on the other's shoulders before sliding to his back.

His two companions followed; they were ordinary soldiers with forced smiles, seemingly trying to please the blue-haired youth.

"If ambush is your specialty, then you're indeed quite skilled." Tianyang shook his hand, maintaining a calm expression.

The blue-haired youth's smile stiffened, and his expression darkened. "You still have the guts to say it again?!"

"I don't want to repeat the same words, and you don't need to prove anything to me. If you insist on proving yourself, the family residence in the Upper District is not going anywhere; you can go there and demonstrate your skills."

Tianyang's lips were slightly curled, posing a challenging question.

The two soldiers behind the blue-haired youth suddenly lost their smiles.

Tianyang's message was clear, If you want to prove you're stronger, go visit the family residence in the Upper District.

The blue-haired youth understood, but this made him even more infuriated.

With a long ponytail flowing behind him, Cang Du, carrying the Springwater(Qingshui) Longsword, exuded arrogance and indifference.

Kun Lan snorted, relaxed his body, and, when passing by Tianyang, deliberately bumped him with his shoulder. "You caused everyone to lose a year's income. I'm not the only one who wants to trouble you. Just wait; your problems won't end here."

Tianyang smiled and shrugged his shoulders, making Kun Lan sway. "I've never been afraid of trouble."

Their gazes intersected in the air, creating a highly charged atmosphere in the corridor.

Kun Lan smirked, leading his two soldiers away.

Cang Du spoke coldly, "You're late."

Tianyang spread his hands and said, "It's my first time in the inner city. Without navigation, I might not have found the building."

"Excuses." Cang Du pushed the door open, revealing the inside. "Come in."

Upon entering, there was a partition, and beyond it was a hall with a round table and five high-backed chairs, surrounded by potted plants.

"This is the meeting place, but it's rarely used throughout the year." Cang Du walked straight toward the exit on the other side of the hall.

Tianyang followed, leaving the hall leading to a corridor.

On the right side of the corridor were windows offering a view of the outside scenery.

On the left, every four meters, there was a room with a sign displaying the occupant's name.

In order, it was Lao Xu, Ji Yu, Cang Du, and Tianyang himself.

Cang Du opened Tianyang's room and said, "This is for you. It only has basic furnishings; if you want anything more, you'll have to buy it yourself. Also, visit the captain's room; he has something for you."

The young man with a ponytail pointed to a room at the end of the corridor and walked back.

Tianyang peeked into his room; it was clean but sparsely furnished.

Apart from a set of metal table and chairs, there was nothing else, indeed basic furnishings.

Tianyang closed the door, went to the end of the corridor, knocked on the door, and heard Han Shu's voice saying, "Come in."

The young man pushed open the door, finding Han Shu seated behind a massive desk, leaning back in his chair with crossed legs on the table.

He smoked and looked at an electronic tablet, wearing a mischievous smile without revealing what he was watching.

Glancing around, images of beaches and scantily clad women were projected on the walls on both sides, displaying women in provocative poses.

The Captain's hobbies... were quite simple.

Han Shu set aside the electronic tablet, beckoning him to come closer. "What are you staring at? Come here."

Tianyang walked over. "Captain, did you need me?"

Under the desk, Han Shu lifted two prepared kits and said, "Starting today, you're an official member of our Raven Squad. Here’s some equipment and supplies; take them; you might need them for the next mission. Also, have you checked your room?"

Tianyang nodded. "Yes, but what's the room for?"

Han Shu smiled. "I don't know about other squads, but in our squad, you can do whatever you want in your room. Even if you hide a woman inside, as long as you don't disturb anyone, no one will care."

Captain, I'm not the kind of person you're describing...

"What do I do next?"

Han Shu raised the electronic tablet absentmindedly. "You don't have to do anything. You can even go home now if you want. Just make sure to appear at the assembly point on the transfer platform when it's time for a mission."

Seeing that Han Shu was already immersed in the virtual world on the electronic tablet, Tianyang carried the two prepared kits and reluctantly returned to his room.

After closing the door, he placed the kits on the table and opened both of them.

One kit only contained a knife. The combat knife and its sheath were separated, capturing Tianyang's attention immediately.

There was no help for it; it was too eye-catching!

The combat knife had a straight blade, its body crimson with geometric patterns along the spine.

The handle was a substantial 30 centimeters, suitable for dual wielding. Additionally, the blade featured a crescent moon design, with the blade extending from two crescent moons, giving it an elegant appearance.

Tianyang extended a finger and lightly ran it across the blade, not feeling a chilly touch but a faint warmth.

The young man tapped lightly on the panel beside the box, activating an electronic interface displaying information about the combat knife.

It was named "Crimson Moon (Hong Yue) Warblade," it was forged using materials from a dark creature called, "Ghost Car (Youling Che)," from their second-stage form of scythe-shaped forelimbs, and thermal-conducting crystallization as the primary material, combined with other materials.

This knife surpassed particle combat knives in sharpness while being lighter. Additionally, the thermal-conducting crystallization could heat the blade when stimulated by Star Essence.

In theory, the temperature could peak at 500 degrees, but in practical combat, the average temperature could only reach around 400 degrees. Nonetheless, this didn't hinder the Crimson Moon Warblade from possessing high heat and burning characteristics.

And the last piece of information came with a warning, ”It's expensive; don't easily damage it, or you might cry when you receive the repair bill! — Gu Min”
