Vol. 1 - Ch. 98 - I already have someone I like!

"I already have someone I like!" Luo Ruxin retorted with her brows slightly furrowed when she heard Luo Ruying’s profound words.

Luo Ruying was momentarily stunned, then her face lit up with joy. "Really?! You already have someone you like?"

"Of course! I like you, Sister~" Luo Ruxin clung to Luo Ruying’s waist, playfully sticking out her tongue.

Luo Ruying: "…"

Her excitement instantly faded, replaced by a mix of exasperation and disappointment. For a moment, she really thought someone had finally taken an interest in this mischievous little sister. What a waste of joy…

After finishing her hair, Luo Ruying lay down on the bed, gazing at the ceiling with a serious expression. Then she asked in a solemn tone, "Ruxin, you haven’t told anyone that you found me, have you?"

"Not yet, Sister," Luo Ruxin replied.

"Good. Don’t tell anyone that I’m here. Even if someone from the Heavenly Realm suddenly contacts you, you must pretend you know nothing." She turned her head, locking eyes with Luo Ruxin, her expression grave.

She was both happy and anxious that her sister had found her. But if certain people discovered her whereabouts, it wouldn’t just endanger her, her daughter, and Ning Yechen—the Temple of Goddess Luo itself might be dragged into disaster.

Luo Ruxin, sensing her sister’s rare seriousness, put away her playful demeanor. "No one? Not even Father?"

"Not even Father. As far as anyone knows, you never found me."

Then she extended her hand and added, "And give me the fragment of the Goddess Luo Sword."

If the wrong people got hold of it, they could use it to track her down. Keeping it in her possession was the safest option.

Luo Ruxin hesitated only a moment before handing over the sword fragment. But her expression darkened with sorrow. "Sister, can’t you really tell me what happened…? Maybe I can help!"

Luo Ruxin knew that everything Luo Ruying was doing—including hiding from the Heavenly Realm—was to protect her and their family. But seeing her beloved sister carrying this burden alone, forced to live in the Mortal Realm, made her heart ache.

Luo Ruying smiled gently, shook her head, and pulled Luo Ruxin into a warm embrace. "Don’t ask, Ruxin. Stay for a few days, then go back.

"And remember…" She tightened her arms around her sister. "Not a word to anyone."

"… I understand, Sister…" Luo Ruxin held onto Luo Ruying tightly, silently vowing to train harder than ever once she returned home.

Her current cultivation at the Heavenly King realm was still far too weak. She wasn’t strong enough to protect her sister yet…

Meanwhile, in the next room…

Ning Yechen gently lifted Luo Hongye into the air, letting her float freely as if she were weightless. He only dared to use such tricks to amuse the child when Luo Ruying wasn’t around.

At first, Luo Hongye had been a little scared. But once she felt Ning Yechen’s guiding hand keeping her steady, she gradually relaxed. Soon, he let go entirely, and she no longer felt afraid. She simply floated, her round little face filled with curiosity as she glanced around.

"Daddy, I’m flying~!"

"Mhm, our little Yeye is amazing~"

"Play something fun with me, Daddy~"

"Alright, but hold on tight to Daddy, okay?"

Ning Yechen turned so that she could wrap her arms around his neck and ride on his back. Then he soared through the air, gliding smoothly around the room.

"Heehee! Daddy is amazing~" Luo Hongye giggled, holding onto him tightly.

"Hmph! Daddy can do something even more amazing!"

"Yeye, do you want to see?"

"Yes, yes~!" Her interest was immediately piqued, and she eagerly nodded.

Ning Yechen stopped midair, turned to face Luo Hongye, and clenched both fists in front of her with a smile.

With wide, curious eyes, she watched as a fluffy little ball appeared out of nowhere in his palm. Her round eyes grew even larger as she leaned in, trying to figure out where it had come from.

Then, with a flick of his fingers, the toy disappeared.

"Daddy, where did the ball go…?" She blinked in confusion.

Ning Yechen smirked and opened his other hand. "Ta-da! The ball is right here~"

"Ooooh…" Luo Hongye tilted her little head, completely fascinated. How did the ball move to Daddy’s other hand?

Ning Yechen handed the toy to her and clasped both hands again. "Now, Yeye, what would you like to see next? Daddy will make it happen."

"Hmm…" Luo Hongye thought for a moment before her eyes sparkled. "Yeye wants to see a little bird!"

"Consider it done~ Right now, the little bird is in Daddy’s hands. Yeye, take a guess. Where is it hiding?" Ning Yechen stretched out his closed fists in front of her.

Luo Hongye furrowed her brows, thinking hard, but she couldn’t figure it out. She pouted cutely. "Daddy, I can’t tell…"

"That’s okay, Yeye. Just pick one! I believe in you~"

Encouraged by his words, Luo Hongye hesitated for a moment before pointing to his right hand. "That one!"

"Ta-da! Congratulations, Yeye, you got it right~!"

The moment Ning Yechen opened his palm, countless glowing spirit birds fluttered out, filling the room with a soft, shimmering light. Each radiant bird danced through the air, encircling Luo Hongye in a beautiful, magical display. The room itself had already been sealed off by Ning Yechen’s power, so there was no worry about Luo Ruxin overhearing or sensing anything.

Luo Hongye sat in stunned amazement, her mouth slightly open as she watched the spirit birds flit around her.

"Do you like them, Yeye?"

"Love them~!" She beamed, her crescent-moon smile overflowing with joy.

Seeing his daughter so happy, Ning Yechen smiled and pulled her into a warm hug. "Yeye, let’s keep tonight’s fun a secret from your mommy, okay?"

"Mm-hmm!"

"Yeye understands! It’s our little secret~" Luo Hongye giggled and nodded eagerly.

She was smart enough to know not to tell. Her daddy’s tricks were always special little secrets between them.

My daughter was just too clever.

It saved him the trouble of making up excuses…

Just then, Ning Yechen faintly heard whispering from the next room. Curious, he floated over to the wall and pressed his ear against it. Luo Hongye, just as curious, copied him, pressing her tiny ear against the wall too.

And so, father and daughter crouched by the wall, big eyes staring into little eyes.
