Jiang Feng was sent flying over eighty meters, crashing heavily into a pile of jagged rocks. If not for his physique being far beyond that of an ordinary person, he would have been left with broken bones and torn muscles.
A vivid red palm print had appeared on his face, swollen and burning. Struggling to his feet, he stared coldly at Ye Fan, eyes filled with rage.
“You!”
As a cultivator of the Celestial Bridge Realm, when had he ever suffered such humiliation? Thrown through the air by a mortal, and in front of so many witnesses, it made him want to crawl into a hole and die from the shame.
“A Celestial Bridge cultivator, so what? Still got smacked down by a mortal like me. Nothing special,” Ye Fan said with a faint smile, rubbing his palm. Then, with mocking sarcasm, he added, “Actually, maybe you are special, your face is so thick-skinned it made my hand ache. Doesn’t yours hurt?”
This bare-faced humiliation made Jiang Feng’s lungs almost explode from rage. He felt utterly humiliated. Celestial Bridge Realm cultivators were supposed to be lofty and untouchable, like gods to mortals. What had happened today was utterly unacceptable, an eternal disgrace. In a chilling tone, he growled, “You’re dead!”
Nearby, all the cultivators were stunned, barely believing what they saw. Even with their godpower sources sealed and unable to use mystical arts, Celestial Bridge Realm cultivators should still be leagues above mere mortals.
Zhou Yi and Wang Ziwen looked at each other, shocked and bewildered. Ye Fan, someone with no knowledge of cultivation, had just slapped a powerful figure away like swatting a fly. It defied everything they knew.
Lin Jia’s beautiful eyes widened in disbelief. Liu Yiyi and Zhang Ziling were dumbfounded, and then showed signs of deep worry, they didn’t think Ye Fan could escape, not with so many soldiers present.
Li Xiaoman stared blankly, finding it all unreal. She glanced at the Celestial Bridge cultivator, then fixed her gaze on Ye Fan, her heart in turmoil.
Thud, thud, thud,
The ground shook as Jiang Feng advanced. Even without mystical powers, his physical might was overwhelming, like a humanoid beast. His eyes gleamed with murderous light.
Ye Fan looked at the bloody palm print on Jiang Feng’s face and smiled brightly. “Oh, buddy, is this you looking down on me from above? Can you look even more superior? How about offering the other side of your face to meet my palm again?”
“Die!” Jiang Feng roared, his killing intent surging. His right hand formed a blade, slashing at Ye Fan’s neck, while his left hand shaped into a dragon claw aimed to rip open Ye Fan’s chest.
“A true powerhouse, going all out just to kill a mortal like me,” Ye Fan sneered. He reached out and firmly grabbed both the palm blade and the dragon claw. With a fierce twist, crack!, bones shattered.
Jiang Feng’s face contorted in agony, cold sweat pouring down from the pain.
Thud thud thud!
Their feet clashed a few more times, each blow dull and heavy. Jiang Feng was horrified, his knees felt shattered. He collapsed to the ground with a thump.
The defeat was unbearable. He was enraged beyond reason. A Celestial Bridge cultivator, yet he couldn’t match the raw physical strength of a mortal? Unbelievable.
“A man’s knees are worth their weight in gold. For you to kneel to me like this, I feel truly unworthy,” Ye Fan said, stepping back before slapping him again, hard, across the other cheek. Another vivid red palm print appeared.
Blood spurted from Jiang Feng’s mouth as he flew back into the pile of rocks. He couldn’t rise again. Gritting his teeth, eyes full of hatred, he growled, “You little bastard, ”
“Humiliated? This is nothing. Two years ago, you all tried to kill me, hunted me with nowhere to run. This little shame is nothing compared to what I went through.”
Ye Fan strode forward. “It’s time to settle old debts. You said you’d kill me, well, I swore to take your life.”
Seven or eight tall figures rushed over to block his path. Some had wanted to intervene earlier, but Jiang Hanzhong had stopped them, he wanted to see just how powerful Ye Fan’s body really was.
Ye Fan didn’t flinch. As the first attacker struck, Ye Fan dodged like lightning, seized the man’s wrist with a crack, snapping it, and grabbed the shimmering longsword.
He struck back. The sword’s arc swept wide, squelch!, blood sprayed as a head rolled away.
“Block me and die!” Ye Fan declared, sweeping the bloody sword, eyes cold and fierce.
Swish, swish, swish,
More figures surrounded him, some with spears, others with blades, all striking together.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Ye Fan was faster than a shooting star, strength like a flood dragon. His sword flashed brilliantly, disarming them all. Then, with a single slash, squelch!, a soldier was cleaved in two, blood flowing like a river.
Swish,
With a backhanded slash, his bloody blade decapitated another. The head flew over ten meters before landing. The body collapsed, spraying blood.
“Who dares block me?!” Ye Fan shouted.
He surged forward, blood-soaked sword cleaving diagonally, thump!, another man fell into a pool of blood.
Everyone was frozen in disbelief. Ye Fan’s physical strength was monstrous. The blood-dripping sword in his hand seemed heavier than a mountain, irresistible, unshakable.
Boom!
Ye Fan’s sword struck, causing a cultivator in front of him to explode, his body torn apart, blood spraying everywhere.
Ye Fan stepped into the pile of rocks, lifting his sword. Clang! A powerful strike met his blade, Jiang Clan elder Jiang Hanzhong had intervened, using his spear to deflect Ye Fan’s blow. He grabbed Jiang Feng and leapt back more than ten meters.
Ye Fan’s heart sank. This old man was terrifying. Though unable to use mystical arts, his body rivaled Ye Fan’s, a shocking feat. After all, Ye Fan had consumed a sacred fruit and entered the Life Spring Realm, his body now monstrously powerful.
“I didn’t expect this,” Jiang Hanzhong said coldly. “A mortal who consumed a sacred medicine and became this strong, no wonder those ancient legends exist.”
“You all started as mortals, too. But now you look down on mortals, talking shit like you’re gods,” Ye Fan said as he advanced. Blood dripped from his sword, dragging along the ground. “You see me as an insect, trying to use me to harvest divine medicine, thinking you control the world.”
“Very well,” Jiang Hanzhong’s eyes gleamed. He wasn’t angry. Instead, he smiled faintly. “The stronger your body, the more likely you’ll survive the ancient curse and succeed in harvesting the divine medicine.”
“You really think you can control me? Overconfident retard!” Ye Fan lunged like lightning.
Jiang Hanzhong tossed Jiang Feng aside, others caught him, and thrust his spear forward. It tore through the air like a bolt of lightning, radiating blinding light.
Clang!
Ye Fan met the attack with his sword. A shrill metallic screech rang out like two iron mountains colliding, deafening everyone nearby.
Ye Fan’s sword slashed like a rainbow, unstoppable force meeting an immovable spear. Each movement was like lifting a mountain.
Jiang Hanzhong’s spear could shake the earth, wild and ferocious, crackling through the void like lightning.
Suddenly, Ye Fan turned into a bolt of lightning himself, charging into the crowd. His target: Jiang Feng.
Several soldiers tried to block him. Frustrated, unable to use divine arts, they had to rely on primitive martial techniques. They felt powerless, if they could use magic, Ye Fan would be ash in seconds.
Squelch!
Ye Fan remained cold. His sword flashed and decapitated one of them.
Swish,
Another fell, cleaved in two.
Squelch!
The sword pierced another’s heart. Blood erupted.
Ye Fan moved with ruthless precision, like a killing machine. Anyone in his way, cut down in one strike. Blood flew, no one could stop him.
Crack!
He seized Jiang Feng, then darted through the crowd like smoke. Jiang Hanzhong’s spear pierced only an afterimage, not even brushing his clothes.
“The debt from two years ago, I’m collecting now,” Ye Fan said, then, snap!, snapped Jiang Feng’s neck cleanly and dropped him.
Jiang Feng died with eyes wide open, blood leaking from his mouth, full of shock and despair. A Celestial Bridge cultivator, killed by a “mortal” with his neck broken, he died in humiliation.
Li Xiaoman, Zhou Yi, Lin Jia, and the others were all stunned, their faces full of disbelief. No one expected Ye Fan to be this powerful.
At that moment, the elder of Radiant Light Sacred Ground, Xu Daoling, along with Ji Clan elder Ji Yunfeng and Jiang Hanzhong, stepped forward, surrounding Ye Fan.
Ye Fan remained calm. His divine spring surged with power, not at all depleted. With such a trump card, he feared no one.
Ji Yunfeng’s voice was icy. “Such a strong body... a shame to kill it. Climb the mountain and harvest the medicine. Do that, and I’ll grant you a clean death.”
“No need for that. Destroy his soul and keep the body, we can still make use of it,” Jiang Hanzhong said, sneering.
Xu Daoling shook his head. “What a waste of sacred medicine. If it had been us instead, our strength would’ve soared.”
“You morons really think you can kill me?” Ye Fan sneered.
Jiang Hanzhong pulled out a brocade box, speaking casually. “We don’t even need to try hard. Wiping you out will be effortless.”
Ye Fan’s heart skipped a beat, he sensed real danger. That box was no ordinary item. He was glad he hadn’t used his final trump card yet.
“...Fine. You clear out those skeletons for me, and I’ll climb the mountain and pick your divine medicine,” Ye Fan said, mind racing.
He planned to use them to remove the threats above, and then take the medicine for himself.
