Ch. 75 - The Black Prince

Tianyang raised his assault rifle almost instinctively, and blue light beams shot out in the direction of the shadowy figure.

Using his waist as leverage when firing, the young man used his increased strength to rotate his entire body outward toward the location where the dark figure would land.

With his other hand reaching back, the Crimson Moon Warblade was unsheathed, infused with Star Essence, and the edge of the blade lit up, like a crimson crescent moon appearing in the darkness!

This series of actions was completed almost in the blink of an eye, and the others hadn't even had time to notice the dark figure dropping from the ceiling.

Seemingly devoid of any means of movement in mid-air, the dark figure absorbed all the Star Essence beams and was blown away by them. Strange, eerie cries emanated from the shadow, filled with anger. It seemed the attack had provoked it.

After landing on the ground, Han Shu and the others finally reacted.

Ji Yu drew her star-quality longbow, and three arrows quickly formed on the bowstring with star essence energy. Three arrows were released in quick succession, making the dark figure perform multiple somersaults to avoid getting hit by the projectiles.

As it stopped, a remarkably long sword swept from behind.

Cang Du's wrist was already glowing with silver light, and the Springwater (Qingshui) Longsword swept out a burst of sword energy, dispersing the swirling black mist in the hall.

Just as it seemed the dark figure would be swept by the sword, it suddenly lunged towards the ground, moving sideways in a bizarre insect-like manner, then bounced towards the wall.

As it was about to hit the wall, a long spear infused with Star Essence, with layers of spiral ripples, was pushed from the side.

A fist burst out from the dark figure, smashing into the ripples of Han Shu's long spear, creating a burst of black arcs at the point of impact.

The arcs writhed like a swarm of snakes, successfully breaking apart the Star Essence long spear, but the fist also suffered damage, quickly retracting into the dark figure.

Although Han Shu's long spear was deflected, the force still pushed the thing to the ground. Seeing this, Han Shu shouted.

"Surround it; don't let it escape!"

Without his command, as soon as the dark figure landed, Tianyang and Cang Du guarded the left and right sides.

In the center, Ji Yu had already drawn her bowstring, with an energy arrow pointing towards herself.

In the rear, Han Shu held his gun in vigilance, leaving it no escape route.

His skin was pale to the point of being sickly, contrasting sharply with his black hair scattered from his helmet.

Tianyang couldn't help but look at Han Shu, who gestured. "Don't look at me; I don't know what it is either."

To Tianyang's surprise, the black-haired man reacted. He showed a listening expression, then opened his mouth and spoke two words in a strange tone: "...Black... Prince..."

The sound of air conditioning echoed in the hall.

"Damn it, it can speak our language just like a wizard!" Han Shu's eyes changed, showing a level of panic not even seen when facing the ghost car.

Tianyang thought of another, more serious problem. "No, it not only can speak; it understands what we're saying!"

Cang Du shouted. "Whatever it is, killing it can't be wrong!"

The young man raised his long sword straight, suddenly thrusting forward with a fierce sword light aimed directly at the back of the man who called himself the "Black Prince."

The Black Prince lifted his somewhat frail arm and swung a string of black arcs, clashing against the tip of the Springwater Longsword.

The arcs transmitted along the long sword to Cang Du, whose face changed color. He quickly let go, instead picking up his assault rifle to fire at the opponent.

The Black Prince jumped, avoiding Cang Du's attack while sweeping his hand to deflect the arrows shot by Ji Yu from the front.

But as he landed, he was met with Tianyang's Crimson Moon Warblade.

At that moment, the face mask and helmet of the Black Prince suddenly opened in the center!

Inside the seemingly metal mask helmet was an organ resembling a mouthpiece!

Under the light, traces of biological tissue could be seen inside the cavity and even a circle of sharp teeth.

A bunch of pink tendrils shot out from the cavity, piercing into a nearby pillar and diving into the cracks. With a tug, the Black Prince moved bizarrely, avoiding Tianyang's strike.

Like a gecko clinging to a vertical surface, the tendrils retracted and the face mask closed. The Black Prince raised his hand, seemingly grabbing at nothing, while a mass of black arcs swirled unpredictably, forming a flickering arc-shaped spear in his hand.

As he made a throwing motion, the spear flew towards Han Shu, forcing him to stop his forward charge and instead use his own Star Essence long spear to parry.

The shimmering black spear shot toward the ceiling, causing an explosion of electricity that brought down a chandelier.

Taking advantage of the distraction, the Black Prince escaped. In the spacious hall, he moved like a beast, using both hands and feet. Despite Tianyang's interception, he was still a beat slow, allowing this almost human-like mysterious creature to break through the window and flee.

By the time Han Shu and the others chased outside, the Black Prince had already climbed up a building, running along the vertical wall, and soon disappeared into the black mist above, leaving no trace.

"This Prince is too good at running. In all my years of coming in and out of the Inverse Universe, I've never seen anything run like it," Han Shu complained with a hint of frustration in his tone.

Cang Du sheathed his Springwater Longsword, his face darkening. "Now it's trouble. That thing left from upstairs. I bet even with Ji Yu's tracking skills, she won't be able to find it, right?"

Tianyang turned to look, but Ji Yu hadn't followed. At that moment, her voice came from the hall. "You'd better come and see."

"What are we looking at? Even if a beauty stripped naked and stood in front of me right now, I wouldn't be interested," Han Shu said, but he still returned to the hall.

Ji Yu stood in front of the side door where the Black Prince appeared, gesturing inside. "There's something in here."

A few of them walked in.

As soon as they entered, they felt the air was more humid than outside, and the temperature had dropped slightly.

Tianyang lifted his rifle, using the illumination attachment to observe the surroundings. There was nothing noteworthy behind the side door. Apart from some scattered fragments of mad dog corpses on the ground, there were only some disassembled tables and chairs.

It seemed to be a room used for storing miscellaneous items.

The young man was about to ask Ji Yu what was worth noting in this room. Unexpectedly, when the light passed from the corner of the wall, a pale face appeared in the young man's line of sight!
