Ch. 295 - Lord of Samsara Returns

On this day, the Dao Race celebrated as a whole. The streets were packed with clansmen lining both sides.

It was not only Dao Tianyun’s birthday, it was also his coming-of-age ceremony.

Every year, the Dao Race would select a Holy Son to compete for the current generation’s Heaven’s Mandate.

Though Dao Tianyun had yet to begin cultivation, as the son of the Dao Sovereign, all eyes were on his every move.

The ceremonial platform was already prepared. Cheers erupted from the onlookers on both sides of the street.

Dao Tianyun slowly ascended the steps, each stride steady and graceful like walking in spring’s gentle breeze.

He stood at the center of the martial stage, flanked by the senior members of the Dao Race.

Below, the crowd cheered as Wind-Tongue Flowers scattered their petals through the sky.

It was a grand ceremony.

“I…” Dao Tianyun slowly raised his head, yet for some reason, on this day of his coming-of-age ceremony, his mind went completely blank.

It felt as though his memories had been erased. His consciousness was hazy and lost.

“Tianyun, speak!” someone beside him urged.

At that moment, a bolt of lightning flashed across the sky.

BOOM!

A deafening thunderclap echoed through the air.

Then came crackling arcs of lightning flickering wildly.

Suddenly, Dao Tianyun froze. He felt as if a bolt of lightning had exploded within his memories.

A flood of foreign memories surged into his mind, forcefully implanted.

“Am I Dao Tianyun… or…?”

He dropped to one knee, clutching his head and screaming in pain. His unusual behavior immediately drew everyone's attention.

A powerful aura erupted from his body.

After a long moment, he slowly stood up.

His presence was imposing, and his eyes held a strange, eerie glow.

Standing atop the martial stage, he said just one sentence before collapsing: “I am... the Lord of Samsara. I shall walk the path of invincibility once again.”

Meanwhile, Xu Zimo had departed from Myriad Formation City, heading toward the Western Region.

The shortest route from the Eastern Continent to the far west was through the Grand Myriad Mountains.

Lying atop the Darksky Tiger, Xu Zimo wasn’t in a hurry.

As he followed the wide main road, the number of travelers gradually increased.

"Did you hear? Something big happened to the Huang Clan."

"Which Huang Clan?" someone asked curiously.

"Which else? The one from Northwest City, of course."

"Oh! The family with the Sword God's legacy!" someone exclaimed, suddenly understanding. "What happened to them?"

"I heard a discarded son from the clan is coming back for revenge. Things are about to get interesting."

Hearing the chatter from the nearby travelers, Xu Zimo paused.

These people were all heading to watch the drama unfold at the Huang Clan.

Yan Buhui was a member of the Huang Clan. Xu Zimo wasn’t sure if the "discarded son" they mentioned referred to him.

Still, he decided to go and see for himself.

Northwest City lay within the territory governed by the Dan Imperial Clan.

The founder of the Huang Clan, the famed Sword God of the Desolate Era, was once a peerless genius and a top contender for the Heaven’s Will in his time.

In order to ally with him, the Dan Imperial Clan had split off Northwest City and gifted it to the Sword God.

Instead, a man named Yin Tian emerged, cutting down all obstacles and ultimately shouldering the Heaven’s Will of that era.

As for the fate of the Sword God, some say he died in the final battle against Grand Emperor Yin Tian. Others say he entered the Path of Immortality and now lives hidden somewhere within the Huang Clan, focused on his cultivation.

Regardless of the truth, it didn’t change the fact that the Huang Clan remained an elite power to this day.

Xu Zimo continued toward Northwest City atop the Darksky Tiger, following the growing crowd.

The last time Xu Zimo had seen Yan Buhui was in the Primordial Ancient City, where he had defeated Qin Feiming and left to receive the Eternal Sword God’s inheritance at Heaven Ender.

Xu Zimo didn’t believe Yan Buhui had grown strong enough to take down the Huang Clan in such a short time.

The only explanation was that he had outside help.

A massive city stood between heaven and earth.

The city was brightly lit, bustling with life thanks to the influx of outsiders.

Xu Zimo found an inn and quietly waited for Yan Buhui’s arrival.

In his previous life, Yan Buhui hadn’t returned to take revenge on the Huang Clan until a century later.

But in this life, Xu Zimo had altered the trajectory of Yan Buhui’s fate to some degree.

His sword intent flowed across the sky, sharp and unyielding.

"Where is the Huang Clan?!" a thunderous roar exploded in the sky.

The people behind Yan Buhui shouted with matching vigor.

At the very center of Northwest City, the Huang Clan’s compound sat in silence.

Now, waves of spiritforce rolled through the sky as Huang Guyuan, the clan patriarch, led his elders into the air.

He stood across from Yan Buhui, facing him in the sky.

"My beloved father," Yan Buhui said from above, his voice calm and emotionless, "Did you ever imagine this day would come?"
