Ch. 28 - Do You Like Me?

Before leaving the room, Ye Chuan reminded Bai QianShuang not to say anything strange.

Luo Xi had already set the table. 

Seeing Bai QianShuang come out of the room, she gave a sweet smile. "Hello, I'm Luo Xi."

Bai QianShuang nodded and subconsciously began, "This humble one is from the Jade Void…"

"Cough!"

She stopped abruptly, seemingly embarrassed. 

Under Ye Chuan's warning gaze, she said softly, "Bai QianShuang."

Ye Chuan breathed a sigh of relief.

Bai QianShuang's expression remained impassive, her ahoge sticking up. Good, no slip-ups.

She was so witty, not stupid at all.

Luo Xi didn't mind Bai QianShuang's attitude and invited her to sit down. The three of them began to eat.

He even heard that the school newspaper was preparing an article about it.

She had simply woken up here, with no other options. She hadn't even learned how to survive in this world yet.

But she couldn't be blamed. Bai QianShuang now needed food to sustain herself; it was a temporary measure since she couldn't absorb spiritual energy.

Seeing Luo Xi ask Bai QianShuang, Ye Chuan said, "Of course it's because my house is great, right, Miss Bai?"

"Mm." Noticing Ye Chuan's gaze, Bai QianShuang nodded towards Luo Xi.

A great house?

Luo Xi hesitated to speak, afraid of making a bad impression on Bai QianShuang, after all, she was a rare tenant.

A moment of silence hung in the air.

"Ye Chuan is very good to me and has helped me a lot, so I want to stay and repay him."

"Becoming his wife is also an option."

Her words stunned not only Luo Xi but also Ye Chuan.

"Oh, I see, so that's why…" Luo Xi recovered and forced a smile, though it was a bit strained. But her confusion was finally cleared.

This girl had clearly fallen for Ye Chuan!

And she even wanted to be his wife!

"Um, ChuanChuan has no money, and his personality isn't great either. He used to deceive girls for free meals, Miss Bai, maybe you should reconsider?" 

Luo Xi said with a forced smile.

"Ye Chuan is very good," Bai QianShuang immediately refuted, hearing Luo Xi's words.

"Very good."

Luo Xi started rambling, then lowered her head and slurped her soup, mumbling incoherently.

"I will judge Ye Chuan's character for myself," Bai QianShuang said indifferently.

"Oh." Luo Xi replied, wondering why Bai QianShuang spoke so formally.

Ye Chuan found Luo Xi's reaction strange. He hadn't seen her this agitated when he had girlfriends before. 

She had always been supportive, like a good buddy, even gossiping about his relationships.

Why was she acting like a cat whose tail had been stepped on just because Bai QianShuang praised him?

Bai QianShuang proceeded to clean out all the dishes on the table, even finishing all the rice in the rice cooker.

"Wow, Miss Bai has quite the appetite," Luo Xi whispered to Ye Chuan.

"It's fine, a good appetite is a blessing," Ye Chuan said with a smile. Nothing made him happier than seeing Bai QianShuang eat her fill.

The way to a woman's heart was through her stomach.

Hearing Ye Chuan's words and seeing him smile at Bai QianShuang, Luo Xi's eyes flickered, and she straightened up slightly. 

"ChuanChuan, I'll do the dishes."

"I'll help you," Ye Chuan said.

"No need, you can chat with Miss Bai."

"Huh?" Ye Chuan crossed his arms, sensing the dejection in Luo Xi's voice. 

"Do you like me? Why do I smell jealousy?"

"Ew, don't flatter yourself." Luo Xi immediately made a disgusted face, wrinkling her nose cutely. 

"I'm just afraid you'll hurt such a nice girl."

"Oh." Just then, Ye Chuan felt his phone vibrate and took it out—

[Obtained a Bai QianShuang-related item, do you want to claim it?]

Seeing that he had received an item, Ye Chuan put it in his backpack and checked.

It was a new pill.
