The Author is not too specific on what a Dependent is, but based on what's available it's a human who is a sort-of servant/caretaker to a vampire and one who was turned into a vampire by that vampire.
That was close. If Yuki had not pushed me away, I would have sucked blood from her. What am I doing... But I told her how I felt, even if it was just in the heat of the moment.
Now, if I don't get a good drink of blood, I will attack humans indiscriminately with my blood thirst. I look around the kitchen and find a note on the table asking me to reheat the food. Yuki… Would you be afraid of me if you knew I was a vampire?
There will come a day when I will have to tell you. Rick, you're amazing. I can't imagine loving a human and sending them off with this kind of feeling. I go outside to think about the future. I can't even think about it right now.
I need blood. I was told it was easy to get a drink at a place with dazzling neon lights, so I walk around aimlessly until a man approaches me.
“Hey, brother, would you like to come to my store? We have a lot of lovely Japanese people there.”
I've been told to be careful with these things, so I ignore the call. Then they call out to me again.
“I'm sure you're looking for a place to eat. There are a lot of rip-offs around here, so be careful."
After saying that, he speaks in my ear.
“You need a lot of blood, don’t you? You've got the blood thirst well under control. It’s outstanding. Come with me."
He says to me in a quiet voice. This guy is one of a kind. I'm honestly grateful, I was about to attack him.
I follow the man and we enter a room in an apartment building. As soon as I enter, the smell of blood is thick in the air. What is this place?
“This is my feeding ground. Drink as much as you want, but don't kill them. It's all the food I could get my hands on."
There are a few women there, and they look at me. Then they come up and rub up against me.
One says, "Hey, you can bite me. Here." And she brushes her hair out of her face to show me her neck. I suck her blood.
“Oh, that feels so good!”
She says in a sweet voice, smiling with satisfaction.
Then other women came up to me. They expose their own necks to me in the same way.
I forget myself and suck their blood. After drinking from some of them, I said to myself, “Ahhh..."
I exhale loudly.
My eyes are probably red and bloodshot right now. The man who led me to this room kneels down at the sight of me and speaks.
"Founder. Are you satisfied? I am also a member of your family. It's an honor to meet you."
“Frankly, you saved me. Who are these women?”
“They are the ones who feel pleasure in having their blood sucked by a vampire. So please do not hesitate to give them what they want.”
“I see. I didn't expect to find my people here.”
“In this day and age, there are many ways to get around. No wonder. And aside from me, there are other vampires in Japan as well.”
“Of course there are.”
Rick was here, and so was I. Is it any wonder?
"Founder, I have a favor to ask of you.”
“Good. I'm all yours.”
“Then, please bite me with your fangs.”
“All right. Give me your hand.”
I sink my fangs into his wrist and take in the blood.
"Aah! This feeling. How long has it been since I’ve felt like this? I'm so happy."
The man’s body trembles as he speaks. He rubs his hand over the traces of my fang marks.
“Whenever you are in need, please come visit us anytime. We'll be waiting for you.”
I leave the room and go home.
It's been a long time since I lost control and sucked blood. But this feeling is still exciting.
Now that my blood-sucking urge due to depleted hunger has subsided... Yuki… How will you answer me?
I was busy at work today, doing medical examinations and translating. I haven't heard from Yuki since then, and for some reason, I haven't seen her in the hospital either?
*Does she hate me?
Is it a problem that I kissed her out of the blue? *
Then the nurse says to me, "Doctor. What's wrong with your face? You look awfully troubled today. What's the matter?"
“Is it really that obvious?"
“ Oh! You aren’t aware of it, are you? Whenever you’re in trouble or thinking about something, you often rub your chin with your hand.”
I was told with a smirk. She’s observant. Our nurses are excellent.
“Kind of. It's a personal thing, and it has nothing to do with work. I'll be careful not to make any mistakes."
"Hmm. I see.”
