Vol. 4 - Ch. 39 - Hero of the spirit town

Imperial capital's second district ―― Entertainment town, Laguna's shady dealing site for human auction

"Brother...... "

In the gloomy dungeon, Pii tightly hugged her little sister who was crying and clinging to him.

"Don't worry. I'm sure Shirohime-sama will come to rescue us"

Pii and others were playing in the forests around Vels, the town of spirits but they were suddenly kidnapped by the black clothed men and were led to this place.

Shirohime-sama had gathered all the spirits of the forest [Accord] who received the devastating blow from those monkeys, protected them and built the town of Vels.

"Don't say it's impossible! The opponent is Laguna, you know! We all will become the toys of those wealthy aristocrats until the day we die!"

A black haired crew cut young man, who appeared to have sold similarly, shouted furiously with tears welling up in the corner of his eyes.

"I'm sure it will be fine! We have the Holy Spirit King!"

Pii shouted vigorously to encourage himself.

"Holy spirit king? We wouldn't have to worry if we could be saved by such superstitious"

A lovely young girl next to the crew cut young man spat on the floor and said in resignation.

"I, saw it. I saw the person who was sold before me lying there, headless...... "

Crouching and quivering, A beautiful blonde haired young man said in a despair filled voice.

"It's not a particularly surprising thing. You guys are slaves after all"

Pii turned to look immediately at the sudden words to see a young man wearing a green hat and formal aristocratic dress standing there as he fiddled the whip with his fingers.

A faint scream echoed in the prison and everyone retreated into the corner of the room.

This person is the lowest level of scum who seems to have some standing in this place and whenever he encounters something he doesn't like, he would come here to whip at Pii and others until they faint.

Pii of course hates him.

"You guys are slaves, in short an object. If you don't meet the master's requirements, you will be disposed of immediately. That's the divine providence"

"T, that person too?"

"That brat huh, he was being too noisy and hadn't wanted to separate from his little sister, which made Noble displeased. Dammit, even though it takes lot of money to dispose of the corpse. That person would be killed soon either way, so why don't they just do it at their own place?"

The man in green aristocratic clothes, whose face distorted hideously, raised his right hand. The armed men behind him unlock the prison and enter, and tie a noose around Pii and her sister's waist.

"You're going to be auctioned. Come out"

He forced them to do so.

"Now the next is extremely rare spirit sibling~s"

The man from the earlier acts as a facilitator on the podium and pointz his hand at Pii and his sister. Cheers erupted immediately.

"Since it's a rare species, the price would start from 500,000 G."

"600,000!"

"700,000!"

"800,000!"

(Lunatics)

As the crazy voices of humans repeatedly pours in his ear, Pii muttered so in his heart while tightly hugging his little sister clinging to him.

The race of Pii and his little sister is different from the superior spirits, they aren't able to change their appearance significantly. The most they can do is make their skin and ears resemble humans. Therefore, they formed small villages, and the adults lived for many years by trading with the rare human merchants who visited them by disguising themselves as people.

Shirohime-sama receives the divine protection of Holy spirit king, built the town for spirits in the center of the forest [Accord] and summoned all clans. The spirits and humans alike spoke, ate and traded together without any differentiation in that town. It's like a paradise for them.

That may be why they had forgotten about it.. Why does the clan of Pii and his little sister choose to stay away from human society by blending in?

"5 Million G!"

The husky voice of stout build aristocrats echoes and stirring inside the building.

"Someone has bidded 5 million. Now, is there anyone who's going to bid higher? If there's not, then the nobleman there一一"

"100 million"

Silence spreads in the building. And when the blonde haired young man raising his hand reflected into his vision,

(T, that person...... )

An intense feeling of relief wells up in his body, as if he has just woken from a long nightmare, sobbing leaked out of his mouth and his vision was blurred by the trickling tears.

That was natural. Because the person there was the true hero of the Vels town.
