Ch. 50 - Frozen ship

Early next morning, workers bustled in the Bailey Harbor in Bailey City carrying various supplies to the warship overnight.

In the Traveler's House tavern by the dock, the stranded merchants curiously inquired the tavern owner, "Boss, is Lord Earl going to crack down on pirates and free the route?"

The tavern keeper wiped the oak wine glass in his hand with a rag and replied gruffly: "I don't know, but, do you know, yesterday, a major event happened outside the city gate, and Miss Philea, heir to Viscount Oliver family was arrested?"

The tavern owner's words opened up the tabloid of the guests, everyone began gossiping, and there was a heated discussion.

A gossiper asked: "Say, what do you think Miss Philea committed?"

One of the sailors smashed his empty wine glass against the table and said fiercely: "Only the dead would know that nasty business that goes on between these important people!"

A solitary drinker tilted his head and drank up the ale in his glass, looking mysterious: "You don't know!"

A strong man dressed as a mercenary heard half of it, his teeth itching, his hands flapped. "Don't be so obtrusive. Say it now! Boss! Give this friend a nice ale!"

The drinker took the ale from the maid and threw a little at her. The maid slapped him angrily, causing everyone to laugh.

The drinker enjoyed the envy of everyone and said triumphantly: "I heard my cousin who is a guard. He says that it has something to do with a dragon from the sea."

The merchant on the side suddenly realized: "No wonder, I saw the crossbow arrows carried by the workers in the morning. Goddess Woking is on top. It's more than three meters long. It turns out they are going to deal with a dragon." (Goddess of Wealth: Woking)

Through the window, the drinkers saw the big guys covered in tarpaulin on the deck of the battleship, and they believed it a little.

"Everyone! Our evil neighbour is a young white dragon. If we don't want to wait for it to grow up and eat all our children and grandchildren, we must take the initiative and kill the threat in the cradle. Who will join me in slaughtering the dragon and win honour and fortune together?"

Bruce saw the burning flame in the eyes of the soldiers and waved his hand shouting: "Bailey City must win!"

The soldiers below also waved their weapons: "Bailey City must win! Must win! Must win!"

"Go!"

With a loud trumpet, twenty warships, at least thirty meters long, set sail. Their stern streaked with water, and a few seagulls flew across the sky, and the orderly fleet sailed toward the rising sun. …

A night later, one of the soldiers on board the battleship Shell No. 8 had insomnia, woke up from his hammock, bypassing his sleeping companions, and gently opened the door.

The cold moonlight penetrated the cabin, he closed the door and walked to the stern, leaning comfortably against the ship, looking up at the full moon in the sky with a pleasant sea breeze.

Ah! It's so beautiful! It's just that the wind is a bit cold.

Hearing the heavy breathing from behind, the soldier got goosebumps all over his body and turned around in dismay, just in time to face a pair of playful vertical golden dragon pupils.

There was a large ferocious white dragon head on the same level as the deck. Its big mouth lined with fangs slightly open, and his throat shining with icy blue light.

The blue light in the white dragon's mouth amplified in the soldier's vacant eyes, approaching him until it consumed him.

Immediately afterward, the icy blue dragon's breath engulfed the entire battleship, and Amos turned around and ran.

In the main battleship, the night mage felt the surging magical fluctuations and quickly pressed the button in his hand. The harsh screams broke the soldiers' dreams.

Enemy attack!

The well-trained soldiers rushed to the deck with their weapons.

Bailey City's top expert - Jax, was faster than the soldiers, he struck an orange-red fireball at the diving white dragon.

As soon as a soldier left the hatch just in time to see a white dragon’s tail rapidly disappearing into the sea. The fireball landed on the surface of the sea, the flames blazed into the sky, a ten-meter-high water column blew up, and the water fell back to the surface, making a crackling sound of water.

The white dragon fled, leaving only the frozen Shell 8. The entire ship was covered in a thick layer of frosty ice, and the ship fell with its dense ice hanging upside down. In the cold moonlight, white smoke filled the ship sending an endless chill, as if it were a ghost ship sailing through time.

The soldiers rioted at the tragic sight of Shell 8.

Bruce's face was blue, and the great mage Jax beside him said: "Ike, something's wrong, the warning spell was unresponsive, that dragon has at least the ability of a higher-level caster."

Bruce looked astonished: "Two masters, haven't we confirmed it? Our enemy is just a young white dragon."

The weapon master-Gandalf was also a little puzzled: "From the look of the dragon scales, Miss Philea had encountered the young dragon and over the years it had grown up to be a Juvenile Dragon at most. Judging from the dragon’s tail just now, it did not exceed the size range of a Juvenile Dragon, logically speaking, it shouldn't have such a high level of spellcasting and such a powerful breathing ability. He raised his hand to take off a section of the ice hangings but felt the intense coldness in it and hastily retracted his hand, and his face had a sombre look. Enchanting himself to resist the cold, he swung his robe around the hanging icicles and broke it off.

Jaques flew back and threw the broken icicle on the deck, said: "There is another possibility. Dragons are one of the creatures who undergo the most mutations and there will always be some freaks with a growth curve that would be difficult for the ordinary dragon, and as long as they don’t die, they would become a terrible disaster."

The Great Master, Jax, sighed as he looked at the icicle. "We're lucky to have met such a dragon."

Bruce also stared intently at the icicle on the ground: "No, this dragon must not be left alive!"

Dragon’s were vengeful creatures, if they failed to slaughter them, years and decades later, there would come a time when the dragon would return to exact its revenge. There were countless examples of them destroying their enemy in an act of vengeance.

Bruce initially thought that bringing two master-level professionals, four thousand elite soldiers, and equipment that specialized in dealing with large creatures to deal with a young dragon was too much, but now he thought that they may not be enough.

Gandalf nodded. "Well, I'll watch the second half of the night to prevent the dragon from sneak attacking again."

Bruce arched his hands: "Then I’ll be troubling you, master."

A thousand meters away in the sea, Amos, like a crocodile, exposed his two eyes on the surface of the water, looking coldly at the fleet of people at a distance.

The status of the overlord of the human continent was unshakable, and Amos did not wish to confront him so early, but the enemy had come to his doorstep, and Amos was not one without temper.

Now that tomorrow’s strike was foretold, it was better to make the first move, deplete the enemy's vital strength, and at the same time probe for intelligence and take the opportunity to persuade the enemy to retreat.

If the enemy was still ignorant, then they would never return!
