Rick and I headed to the medical team.
It should be fine. Kazuya is there.
I think so, but my heart still ached. I was getting worried and it felt like I was going to collapse from anxiety.
At that time, Yuki was taking a rest in her tent. Then, a man claiming to be also be a doctor and a colleague in the medical team approached Yuki’s tent.
“There were cookies in the relief supplies that just came in. Would you like to join me for a cup of tea and a chat?"
Saying that, he peeked into Yuki's tent.
“Oh, did Marc bring them?”
“Speaking of which, I heard that you and Dr. Marc were good friends...."
“That’s right. We’re dating.”
The person forcefully entered the tent and grabbed Yuki’s arm.
“Why don’t you go out with me instead of him? I was fascinated by your attitude as a doctor. He doesn’t deserve you.”
Yuki was offended by his words.
“Are you really a member of Doctors Without Borders? No one here has anything bad to say about Marc!”
She glared at the person who came in saying that.
“You don’t know who he really is, do you?”
“I don't know what you mean.”
“He is…….”
As he was about to say, Kazuya came rushing into the tent.
“Doctor Kashiwagi! This place is dangerous! A suicide bomber just blew himself up nearby and several people were injured! Please evacuate from here immediately!”
The intruder was surprised by Kazuya who had suddenly came in.
“Who are you? We’re in the middle of a truce. That’s not true!”
The person said. Yuki asked the person.
“A truce? What do you mean? How do you know that? We were not told that! We treat the wounded and the sick. Isn’t that our sole purpose?”
Kazuya intervened between Yuki and the person as if to protect her.
“You! You are his dependent!…”
He quickly closed his mouth.
“How do you know Kazuya-kun here? It should be your first time meeting, right?”
The person who was in a panic opened fired at Kazuya. Several shots hit him. Yuki panicked, severely distraught.
“It’s alright. It’s an iron bullet.”
Kazuya turned back to Yuki saying so.
“Kazuya-kun…”
But Yuki was still worried. Kazuya glared at the person who fired the shots at him and said,
“Well what should we do with you now?”
He then rushed towards the person and pushed him into a corner.
“You monster! Get out of here! Get out of here and be gone!”
While screaming, the intruder fired again and again. The gun ran out of bullets, and all that could be heard was the click-click-click of the empty gun.
“It looks like you’re out of bullets. What are you going to do now?”
The man looked to Yuki and said,
“I really respected you. Too bad.”
Saying that, he blew himself up.
