"But that little guy is really annoying."

The driver suddenly spoke out of the blue.

The other two looked puzzled, subconsciously searching the surveillance footage, trying to figure out who the driver was referring to.

But in the end, they found nothing.

"He's not here!"

"What about Yusheng?"

Monitor Member A reacted faster, realizing something was missing. He frantically searched through the surveillance footage but found nothing.

It was as if Yusheng had disappeared into thin air.

"Stop looking!"

"If you found him, you wouldn't be working as clerks."

The driver complained, stood up and casually opened the iron gate that emitted a harsh noise then looked outside with disdain.

At this moment, Yusheng was standing right at the doorway, calmly locking eyes with the driver.

No one said a word.

"How did you discover this place?"

Monitor A furrowed his brow slightly, looking at Yusheng at the door.

"Footprints."

Yusheng pointed at the ground.

On the slightly dusty floor, under the right lighting conditions, you could indeed see faint footprints, though not very clearly.

Since they had arrived half a day earlier, the factory's dust had covered their footprints extensively. With the commotion caused by the teachers and students entering, most of the footprints had been erased.

Could people from Sin City really be so abnormal?

For a moment, the two of them fell into deep self-doubt.

Soon, Monitor Member A turned his thoughtful gaze towards the driver.

He seemed to be the last one to enter.

He probably left footprints.

"Don't look at me, I don't leave footprints when I walk."

As if anticipating his thoughts, the driver said it casually, then looked at Yusheng with a hint of a smile. "Want to come in?"

"Yeah."

Yusheng nodded gently, confidently walking in and taking in the simple surroundings before finally sitting down on the edge of the bed.

The driver pointed to the surveillance footage, his voice carrying a hint of coldness.

By now, Du Xu had already sustained a few injuries.

Zhao Zicheng and the other students who stepped forward were no different.

"Because they won't die."

Yusheng's expression seemed a bit puzzled, his voice was tinged with confusion as if he didn't understand why the driver would ask such a meaningless question.

The driver was momentarily stumped, unable to retort.

But soon, he spoke again, "What if I won't intervene, so if you don't save them, they will die."

"What would you do then?"

Yusheng was even more puzzled, looking at the driver with a strange expression and said, "That dog demon is weak, even if you don't intervene, they won't die."

At this point, the driver seemed lost for words, frustratedly running his hand through his hair.

"What if!"

"What if that dog demon suddenly becomes stronger?"

Yusheng shook his head. "He won't become stronger."

"What if I help him become stronger? Is that okay?"

The driver almost roared.

Yusheng's expression turned solemn and said, "That would be considered an indirect murder or even premeditated murder. According to Article 75 of the Mo Ge Code, you could face a sentence of seven years or even death penalty."

His words were firm and resonated.

And they carried a warning.

The driver thought,

'Why did the conversation take such a dark turn, now I'm even facing a death sentence?

I was just trying to teach him about unity and friendship but now I'm the criminal?

And what's even more ridiculous is...

Why is this guy so familiar with the Mo Ge Code?

Damn it!

He knows all these details that I didn't even know.'

"Fine!"

"If I were to kill them now, would you save them or not?"

The driver took a deep breath, forcing himself to remain calm, then asked the question again.

Once again, Yusheng shook his head.

The driver's expression grew colder, the initial appreciation he had for Yusheng was slowly fading.

A selfish person, no matter how outstanding he is, he has no benefit to humanity.

"They're your classmates."

"Are you really going to watch them die?"

When the driver spoke these words, his voice lacked any emotional fluctuations.

Yusheng looked at the driver with a gaze that now held pity. "I can't defeat you, so how would I save them... by dying with them?"

"Why not call the police and receive compensation on their behalf?"

"According to Article 162 of the Mo Ge Campus Policy issued this year, during their student or apprentice period, if they die while performing a mission outside, they can receive a compensation from 30,000 up to 50,000."

"Furthermore, as a witness, if you report the perpetrator and provide information, you will also be rewarded."

"Killing eleven apprentices qualifies as a wanted crime."

"Would you kill them?"

Yusheng pondered as he spoke, suddenly lifting his head and looking at the driver with a hint of anticipation.

The driver struggled to decipher his current emotions.

He both wanted to end this terrible conversation and felt somewhat resentful.

But he couldn't concede defeat.

"But have you considered that I might kill you too?"

A murderous intent emanated from the driver.

The look in his eyes was dismissive.

Yusheng shook his head. "I can't defeat you, but you can't kill me either."

The tension dissipated.

The driver sat back down in his chair, appearing somewhat disheartened. The overwhelming aura he had emitted just moments ago vanished in an instant.

Monitor Members A and B exchanged glances, wiping the cold sweat off their foreheads.

Just a moment ago, they almost believed that the driver was about to resort to violence.

The pressure had been palpable.

"I'll ask you one last time, if your classmates are in danger and you happen to have the ability to save them, would you intervene?"

The driver had abandoned all the fancy words and was speaking candidly.

Yusheng barely hesitated before nodding, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

"Of course, I would save them."

"According to Article 95 of the Mo Ge Civic Awards Policy and Article 53 of the Awakened Individuals Regulation for acts of bravery and heroism."

"For each person I save, as long as I retain evidence, I can redeem rewards at any Mo Ge location."

"I've analyzed it carefully so it's possible to claim both rewards."

"Roughly... around thirty thousand?"

...

The driver fell into contemplation once more.

This time, it wasn't out of frustration but out of regret.

It seemed that he, too, had acted heroically many times. He had saved more than ten people in the wilderness, thirty thousand each.

This meant he had missed out on over three hundred thousand.

With that money, could he perhaps exchange it for a better-quality crystal and possibly break through again?
