“The demons should all be inside the Human Sovereign Academy,” Xu Zimo said. “And because I have a map of the Human Sovereign Palace, I was able to avoid them.”

“A map?” Upon hearing this, King Sky-Sage’s expression darkened. “You were sent by my junior brother.”

“No, no. I fought him once. We’re mortal enemies,” Xu Zimo replied. “He just ran fast. Otherwise, I would have killed him.”

Xu Zimo knew that the junior brother King Sky-Sage referred to was Mortal Sovereign.

The real Mortal Sovereign had likely died long ago.

The current Mortal Sovereign was probably an impostor, a former disciple of the Human Sovereign.

“More precisely, I’m here for the Otherworldly Demon Stone,” Xu Zimo replied. “As for the inheritance, I’ve already found a suitable person.”

“There’s an Otherworldly Demon hiding inside the demon stone...”

“Yeah, I know,” Xu Zimo interrupted. “I’ve met the Human Sovereign.”

“You’ve met my master?!” King Sky-Sage asked joyfully.

“More accurately, just a remnant soul,” Xu Zimo said. “This demon stone is the key to forming my Primordial Spirit. I must obtain it.”

“If you want the demon stone, I have no objections,” King Sky-Sage replied. “But the Human Sovereign Palace is now on the brink of destruction. I also need your help.”

“If you want me to wipe out the demons, I really can’t do that,” Xu Zimo said. “You were a powerful Infinite Dao cultivator and still fell. Someone like me, a newly ascended Infinite Dao, probably won’t be of much help.”

“No. You have the palace jade token, don’t you?” King Sky-Sage asked.

Xu Zimo nodded.

“You want me to take control of the Human Sovereign Palace?”

“Exactly. Although my master has passed on, he left behind boundless power within this palace,” King Sky-Sage explained. “As long as you can control the Human Sovereign Palace, destroying the demons will be effortless. At that point, everything here will belong to you.”

“The jade token must be placed in a specific location to take effect,” Xu Zimo said. “Let me guess. That location should be inside the Human Sovereign Academy.”

Hearing this, King Sky-Sage nodded bitterly.

“How many demons are there here?” Xu Zimo asked.

“My master spent his entire life suppressing demons,” King Sky-Sage said with a bitter smile. “I don’t actually know how many there are. If I had to estimate, at least several hundred. Some may have already died during the suppression.”

“Several hundred,” Xu Zimo murmured, stroking his chin.

He did not want to use the power of his God World.

Once he did, there was a risk of exposure.

If that happened, the Heavenly Dao might disregard all rules just to kill him.

“Actually, we still have one more source of support,” King Sky-Sage suddenly said.

“What is it?”

“In this Discipline Hall, there is a stone stele,” King Sky-Sage explained. “It holds the imprints of many of my senior brothers. If we activate it, they can help you fight the demons.”

“Then activate it,” Xu Zimo said.

“It’s not that simple. The consciousness of my senior brothers is in deep slumber,” King Sky-Sage said. “To awaken them, blood is required. A great deal of blood.”

“Will demon blood work?” Xu Zimo asked.

“Of course. Demon blood is even better at stimulating their awakening,” King Sky-Sage replied.

“Then that works. Open the Discipline Hall. Let’s welcome the demons,” Xu Zimo said.

“You’ve thought this through?” King Sky-Sage asked.

“Does it matter whether I have or not?” Xu Zimo chuckled. “Not like we got a choice.”

Hearing this, King Sky-Sage nodded and said no more.

He waved his hand.

The doors of the Discipline Hall opened, and a beam of light shot skyward.

It immediately drew the attention of all the demons.

The stone stele deep within the Discipline Hall was also dragged out by Xu Zimo and placed at the entrance.

Xu Zimo stood guard at the doorway, Shadow Tyrant in hand.

“We’ve found him,” a demon shouted not long after.

Before it could finish speaking, it was met with the endless blade intent of Shadow Tyrant.

Blood scattered and splashed onto the stone stele.

Xu Zimo stood calmly, blade lowered.

Soon, a large group of demons rushed over.

“Capture him. The master will reward us greatly,” a demon roared.

Xu Zimo’s gaze turned cold.

Shadow Tyrant flashed. One slash meant one dead demon.

Clean and decisive. No mercy.

Before long, corpses were piled upon the stele.

Their demonic blood was especially striking.

It seemed that the scholars of the Human Sovereign Palace were awakening.

But at this moment, the entire Discipline Hall was completely surrounded by demons.

Although Xu Zimo had killed many, their numbers still exceeded his expectations.

He looked up.

In the sky above, a terrifying figure loomed, suppressing everything.
