Ch. 37 - Magic sword???

When I entered the Monster House, the wall behind me shifted and the entrance was sealed. The entrance would not open until either there were either no more monsters or I died.

A crack formed on the wall in front of me and it began to pulsate. A lizardman should be emerging from the wall soon.

I took the key to this operation out of my backpack and held it in my left hand and then extended it out in front of my chest. A shortsword was not easy to handle, so I also had a knife in my right hand.

And finally, a one-eyed lizardman emerged from the wall.

"Gekogekoge!"

Coward! I heard them say that. The lizardman, who should’ve instantly attacked upon seeing a human, was stuck in place.

More lizardmen came out from the wall one after the other, but they also did not attack and only wore angry expressions.

"Hey, what's wrong! Come on!"

"Gekogekogeko!"

Let go of that child! I heard their cries. That child they were talking about was a green iguana I was holding in my left hand.

A lizardman was about to jump at me, but I held the knife up to the neck of the green iguana and it stopped moving.

"Hahahaha! Do you guys care about the life of this lizard?"

"Gekogekogegegegekoge!"

What did the child do! I heard them say. This green iguana didn't do anything to me. It was just bought by me.

"If you want to save the life of this lizard, all of you go back into the wall!"

The lizardmen looked at each other. I can see the expressions of anger had changed to bewilderment.

"Hurry up!"

I yelled pointing at the crack in the wall with my knife. The lizardmen began a discussion. Well, for an example, if I asked them to commit suicide, they may have attacked me messly.

But what I asked for from them was to go back into the wall! That's right. This should have been a low hurdle for the lizardmen to face. Even if there was a boss on the other side of the crack, they should have been able to manage with an explanation like there was no choice for them but to do that since I was a dangerous guy.

"You guys are ignoring me."

I repositioned the tip of the knife to the neck of the green iguana.

"Gekogge!"

We get it! They said. One-by-one the lizardmen returned through the crack of the wall..

The last one to return glanced at the green iguana.

"Gekokokoge."

I'm fine. I heard the iguana say to the lizardman. Then, the last lizardman returned to the wall and the crack was cleanly sealed off. All I had to do now was to wait for the treasure chest to appear.

Tl note: Green Iguana is a large, arboreal, mostly herbivorous species of lizard. Usually, this animal is simply called the iguana.
