Vol. 1 - Ch. 65 - Very Uncomfortable

After bathing at night, Luo Ruying held Luo Hongye, sat on the bedside, and dried her daughters’ wet hair.

The moment her hair was dry, Luo Hongye turned around and climbed under the blanket.

In addition to eating and playing, she loved sleeping with Ning Yechen and Luo Ruying each night.

“Mommy and Daddy, time for bed~” Luo Hongye said sweetly as she stuck her head out from under the blanket.

Ning Yechen and Luo Ruying smiled at each other, took off their outerwear, and climbed into bed one after another.

One bed, one blanket, and one family of three sleeping together.

Luo Hongye slept in between Ning Yechen and Luo Ruying as usual.

Shortly after lying down, she quickly fell asleep with Luo Ruying’s rhythmic, gentle caresses.

Ning Yechen lay sideways, resting his head on his arm. He looked at Luo Hongye dotingly and then looked at Luo Ruying lovingly.

Luo Ruying noticed his gaze, raised her eyes, and asked doubtfully, “Why do you keep looking at me?"

“Because my wife looks good,“ Ning Yechen praised from the bottom of his heart.

He meant every word he said.

Luo Ruying was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on.

With her hair held up by a hairpin done in a married woman's style, she looked like a beautiful wife.

When she coaxed their daughter, she gave off the glow of a loving mother.

Ning Yechen's sudden praise made Luo Ruying blush instantly. She glared at him huffily and quietly lowered her eyes to avoid him.

She did not understand why he suddenly brought this up.

Now, she felt a little embarrassed.

Seeing the shy look on Luo Ruying’s face, Ning Yechen felt even more attracted to her.

Luo Ruying already had a two-year-old daughter, but she looked like a shy young lady.

He liked her this way as well.

Ning Yechen inched his face towards Luo Ruying’s.

It had been some time since they had been together. They barely got to spend any quality time alone.

Most of the time, it was the family of three together, and they were busy spending time with their daughter.

Even though they were gradually growing closer, they did not make any physical advancements.

Now that Luo Hongye was asleep, Ning Yechen could finally spend some time alone with Luo Ruying.

They could whisper to each other as a couple…

As Ning Yechen approached Luo Ruying’s face and wanted to do more, she suddenly said something that instantly froze him in place.

“Oh, yes. Was Miss Yue really your maid?”

Ning Yechen was shocked. Huh? Why is she asking this? Don't tell me she noticed something wrong.

Seeing his hesitance in replying, she raised her head doubtfully, only to see his face very close to hers. “W-why are you so close?”

“Erm… I was worried that Yeye might catch a cold, so I came closer to keep her warm,” Ning Yechen answered with a serious look on his face.

“I see. Then why is your face so close to mine?”

His face was only a palm's distance from her.

She had a feeling it was not what he said.

Ning Yechen cleared his throat awkwardly before moving back a little and quietly lying down.

Sadly, he did not accomplish his goal.

Luo Ruying looked at the disappointed Ning Yechen and found him funny.

She did not understand why he was disappointed.

Luo Ruying pushed herself up slightly and pulled the blanket over Luo Hongye and Ning Yechen.

With her cultivation, even the coldest climate was unable to affect her.

She naturally wanted to let Ning Yechen and Luo Hongye have more of the blanket.

“Dear, you're the best.”

When Luo Ruying tucked Ning Yechen in, a satisfied smile immediately appeared on his face.

His wife was so thoughtful.

Luo Ruying said huffily, “Do you think you can just play dumb? You haven't answered my question yet.”

Ning Yechen went speechless.

“Dear, she used to be my maid. After I left home and went into seclusion, I no longer saw her,” he answered cautiously.

Technically, he was not lying.

Indeed, Yue Qingyou used to be his personal maid in the Demon Realm.

“Your maid… I see,” Luo Ruying murmured as she narrowed her eyes.

Ning Yechen felt anxious and scrutinized Luo Ruying’s expression. Is she jealous or something?

Fortunately, she did not get into a jealous fit as he expected. Instead, she asked curiously, “Your family’s staff seem a little unusual. I'm getting curious about your background.“

Meng Niu and the others were one thing, but Yue Qingyou gave off a completely different temperament, and her appearance was too beautiful.

With a woman like her having been Ning Yechen’s maid, it made Luo Ruying curious about his family.

She wondered what kind of family could groom a personal maid like Yue Qingyou.

“That’s true…” Luo Ruying did not catch Ning Yechen’s hidden meaning and simply assumed they were going to visit his family in the Mortal Realm like any other wife.

“How many people are in your family? If we’re going, I need to prepare gifts.”

He was the Supreme Lord of the Demon Realm, so everyone in the realm was his citizen. Naturally, there were a lot of people.

She was dying to know how many people were in his family.

Ning Yechen was afraid Luo Ruying would continue asking, so he hurriedly changed the subject. “Dear, raise your head.”

“Huh?” Luo Ruying was puzzled but still raised her head from the pillow.

Ning Yechen took the opportunity to reach his arm under her pillow and said with a smile, “Dear, you can lie down now.”

She glanced at his arm and finally realized what he wanted to do.

He wanted her to rest her head on his arm.

Luo Ruying was a little shy as she attempted to lie on Ning Yechen's arm.

The moment she lay down, he curled his arms and pulled her into his embrace until she lay on his chest.

Luo Hongye was between them, and the three of them lay closely together.

Luo Ruying was slightly startled. Her face turned red as she glared huffily at Ning Yechen, but she did not move away.

“Dear, how does this feel?” Ning Yechen asked with a smile.

“It's too hard, not comfortable at all.” Luo Ruying pouted in displeasure.

“Is that so? Do you want to change positions?” Ning Yechen wanted to pull his arm back and change positions.

But Luo Ruying pressed his arm down, closed her eyes, and said softly, “It's okay. Just leave it like this…”
