Ch. 478 - Blood Rune Beast Emerges

After the founding of the Swordless Mountain, Swordless did many things against his conscience.

You could say that under the orders of that monster, he lived every day in torment for the sake of breaking the seal of the Blood Rune Race.

His conscience was not entirely lost, he often remembered why he began cultivating in the first place.

Over the years, he had more than repaid the debt to the creature that helped him destroy a sect.

Now he was tired, and he didn’t want to go on like this anymore.

Especially after Jiang Dianfeng's words, “Good and evil will be repaid in the end”, he became more certain of his decision.

The wind gently blew, pulling him out of his sorrow from hundreds of years.

In the distant sky, black mist began to gather.

Swordless looked toward the black mist, and the sword sheath on his back began to tremble again.

“I knew you pathetic humans couldn’t be trusted,”

A furious voice roared out from within the black mist.

“Those who are not of our kind must be destroyed.”

In just a moment, the black mist spread across half the horizon.

Everyone looked into the mist with heavy expressions.

The sun was blocked, and the entire world seemed to darken.

Clouds churned within the mist, and a figure slowly emerged, pushing aside the fog with both hands.

He wore an oversized black robe that covered his whole body.

As the black-robed figure stepped out, he tore off the robe.

He stood in the air, and only then could everyone see his face.

It was a monster with a red-purple body, every muscle clearly defined.

Its two eyes were wide open, with blood-red pupils.

Its features were mostly human-like, but many aspects were distinctly unnatural and bizarre.

When it ripped off the robe, its blood-red eyes stared deeply at Swordless.

It said, “I brought you out of the ruins back then. I helped you get your revenge. You’ve really let me down!”

“All these years I’ve done enough for you. That counts as repaying the debt,” Swordless replied. “From now on, we owe each other nothing.”

“You really think that by killing those two useless fools, you people can just walk away today?” the monster sneered.

As it finished speaking, a terrifying aura erupted from its body.

Thunderous explosions echoed through the clouds.

Immortal pressure surged around it, and spiritual energy flowed like a mighty river.

The monster's body began to grow.

Its hands turned into claws, and even casual swipes tore open space.

Its eyes became even more terrifying. Its face looked sinister, grinning with bared fangs.

Its ears were enormous, like a pair of folding screens.

Hair began to grow rapidly across its entire body, and within moments, it was completely covered and several times larger.

“So this is a Blood Rune Beast?” Xu Zimo muttered with interest.

As the monster fully revealed its true form, immortal aura surrounded it, and murderous energy radiated.

The surrounding space kept collapsing and reforming.

“Be careful, the Blood Rune Beast’s offense and defense are terrifying at the same realm,”

Jiang Dianfeng said seriously to Jiang Li. “You organize the family’s retreat, I’ll hold it off.”

“Let’s fight together,” Swordless said to Jiang Dianfeng.

Jiang Dianfeng was surprised and paused for a moment.

Then he nodded and said, “Alright.”

The two rose into the sky and charged at the Blood Rune Beast.

Jiang Dianfeng wielded his heavy sword, slashing down with crushing force.

Swordless’ entire body was wrapped in thousands of strands of sword energy, surrounding the beast and slicing through the air.

The sound of swords clashing rang across the sky.

But the monster calmly raised its right claw and swatted down.

Jiang Dianfeng’s heavy sword was sent flying.

Swordless' sword aura had no effect at all.

The monster breathed out, two white jets of air spraying from its nostrils.

Its eyes locked coldly on Swordless.

In that moment, its immortal aura surged even stronger, and it moved like an arrow.

The next instant, it appeared in front of Swordless and struck with a claw.

Swordless' body was sent flying, blood spraying everywhere.

He didn’t scream in pain, but his skin looked as if it would split open, covered in countless wounds.

Jiang Dianfeng, whose sword had been knocked away, was also sent flying.

He wiped blood from the corner of his mouth, his hands trembling as he gripped his sword.

The old injuries inside him had worsened, and his life essence and spiritual energy were in chaos, reducing his combat power drastically.

In just one exchange, the two of them could no longer hold on.

“The opponent is too strong,” Jiang Li said quietly.

“You know the price of betraying me?” the monster ignored Jiang Dianfeng and slowly walked up to Swordless, speaking coldly.

“Death, nothing more,” Swordless said with a bitter smile. “I’ve been ready for that a long time.”

“No, I’ll trap you in the Blood Rune Race for centuries, let you truly experience the torment of our race,” the monster said grimly. “Until you die slowly and painfully in endless suffering.”

The monster grabbed Swordless in its giant claw and lifted him up, then turned its gaze to Jiang Dianfeng.

With a mocking smile, it said, “Little rats of the Jiang Clan, where do you think you’re running?”

The monster laughed wildly as it looked at the panicked Jiang clan on the mountain.

Its massive claw, filled with overwhelming spiritual energy, slammed downward.

With a deafening boom, the split Sword-Casting Mountain shook violently.

The ground cracked open in countless places.

The Jiang Clan members caught beneath the claw were all smashed into oblivion.

But when the monster raised its claw, it noticed that one young man still stood unharmed.

“That’s enough. The show’s over,” Xu Zimo said with a slight frown.

“Who are you, kid?” the monster asked, lifting its head. The stench from its mouth was thick.

Xu Zimo didn’t answer. He waved his right hand in the air.

A spatial gate opened.

A massive God Beast stepped out slowly.

As Chaos released its powerful Arcane Immortal Realm beast aura, the monster finally frowned and looked at it seriously.

“Desolate bloodline…” the monster said with narrowed eyes.

Chaos gave no response. Two massive wings unfurled behind it, covering the sky as it charged toward the monster.

The wings cut through the shattered void and instantly reached the monster.

Its claws locked onto the beast’s claws and flung it away.

Chaos was incredibly fast. Before the monster could react, its body was slammed into the foot of the mountain.

It stood up, roaring furiously into the sky, and once again charged into battle with Chaos.

The two monster-like beasts fought viciously, grappling and tearing at each other.

They attacked in brutal, savage fashion, exchanging blow for blow.

It was completely ferocious.
