Ch. 40 - One Punch K.O.

As An Shiyu predicted, the referee quickly restored order.

Ten people against one was impossible; that would be a gang fight, not a duel. And with so many people present, such a thing wouldn't be allowed.

After calming down, the Taekwondo Club members returned to their positions, but their expressions were still filled with anger, glaring at Ye Chuan as if they wanted to grind him into the floor.

Ye Chuan remained calm, watching the agitated Taekwondo Club members as if he were watching a play.

He wasn't afraid of a group fight; he was even hoping they would all come at him at once so he could finish them all off quickly.

In a normal fight, numbers were a definite advantage.

But unfortunately for them, Ye Chuan was a Qi Refining cultivator.

No matter how many ants there were, they were still ants.

There was a strict hierarchy.

Soon, it was back to a 1v1 situation. Seeing the momentum shift back to Ye Chuan, Huang Haotian took a deep breath. 

"Are you sure you don't want to call it a draw? I can give you a chance. Let's just consider it a tie."

"We can get our bets back."

Ye Chuan rolled his eyes at Huang Haotian's words. "You're so shameless. Who was the one screaming just now? Oh wait, it was your little brother screaming, wasn't it?"

Huang Haotian gritted his teeth, stung by Ye Chuan's words. Encouraged by his club members, he forced himself to say, 

"Don't get cocky! You can't defeat all of us! What are you pretending to be?"

There were so many of them; they could just wear Ye Chuan down!

By now, Huang Haotian had forgotten his original intention. 

At first, he wanted to beat Ye Chuan to a pulp, break his legs in front of everyone, and put him in the hospital for months. But now, he was just thinking about how to save face.

Huang Haotian knew he couldn't drag this out any longer. He had to finish the fight quickly!

He used all his strength to match Ye Chuan's speed and threw a punch!

He was betting his entire reputation on this!

Seeing this, Ye Chuan reached out to grab Huang Haotian, as he had done before.

Huang Haotian narrowed his eyes.

Now!

He changed his move, switching to a spinning kick!

Huang Haotian's change of movement was very fast, but to Ye Chuan, it was still in slow motion. 

He chuckled inwardly, activated his Fire Profound Constitution, and raised his leg.

Huang Haotian's kick landed squarely on Ye Chuan's raised leg. He inwardly rejoiced; his kick was powerful enough to send an adult flying!

But his joy was short-lived.

It felt like he had kicked a scorching hot stone wall, his foot like a piece of meat on a chopping board.

"Argh!!!" The intense burning sensation and the searing pain in his foot made Huang Haotian scream again and collapse onto the floor!

From the audience's perspective, it looked like Huang Haotian had launched a spinning kick, only to be sent flying by the impact.

Huang Haotian lay on the floor, clutching his ankle and wailing.

"See? See? I'm not a wooden board, so stop using your performance art tricks, okay?" Ye Chuan shook his head, his tone condescending, each word like a knife twisting in Huang Haotian's heart.

The audience was now openly laughing at him.

"Keeps kicking wooden boards, thinking he's invincible."

"Hahahaha, those boards are probably custom-made, designed to break easily."

"I finally understand how Ye Chuan defeated them. They probably just threw themselves at him, then claimed he used a sneak attack and was dishonorable."

"Hey, Huang Haotian got MVP in the city-level Taekwondo competition!"

Huang Haotian was speechless, his face contorted in pain, gasping for air.

He glared at Ye Chuan. "Are you deliberately humiliating me?!"

"Tell me, are you?!"

"What else?" Ye Chuan readily admitted, which stunned Huang Haotian.

Ye Chuan looked bored. "A one-punch K.O., did you really think you were strong? Git gud, stop barking, okay?"

"Yeah, I'm humiliating you, what are you going to do about it? Get up and fight me! Come on!"

His taunting words made Huang Haotian's blood boil. He roared, "Ye Chuan!!”

Then, his body went limp, and he collapsed to the floor with a groan.

He had been literally angered into unconsciousness by Ye Chuan!

"Huh? He fainted?" The referee, seeing this for the first time, quickly checked on Huang Haotian and then asked the Taekwondo Club members to take him to the infirmary.

"What the hell? Huang Haotian fainted from Ye Chuan's trash talk?"

"Seems he has no stress tolerance at all."

"LOL, tomorrow's school newspaper will be entertaining."

The audience buzzed with excitement, and Ye Chuan hadn't expected Huang Haotian to actually faint.

He hadn't even said anything that bad, right?

This guy had no resilience at all.

Ye Chuan shook his head. He couldn't very well go to the infirmary and beat up an unconscious Huang Haotian.

Turning his head, Ye Chuan noticed Luo Xi staring at him. He smiled and winked reassuringly.

Seeing Huang Haotian collapse, Luo Xi seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.

The duel had to continue. Ye Chuan looked at the referee. "Since Huang Haotian is down, I win, right?"

The referee immediately declared Ye Chuan the winner.

"Next board-kicking bro, who's up?" Ye Chuan looked towards the Taekwondo Club. "Anyone?"

"I'll go!"

Hearing Ye Chuan call them "board-kicking bros", the Taekwondo Club members were agitated, and a tall, muscular guy stepped forward. 

He was almost six foot three, his body ripped.

"The vice-president of the Taekwondo Club, Ma Xiaoyun!"

"I am Ma Xiaoyun. You are strong, but you shouldn't have insulted the Taekwondo Club," Ma Xiaoyun said, seemingly not one for words.

"You guys started this, and now you're playing the victim?" Ye Chuan scoffed.

From the very beginning with Huang Haotian, and then the forum incident, Ye Chuan had been the one provoked. Now this tall guy was accusing him of insulting them.

"Even if he was wrong, are you completely blameless?" Ma Xiaoyun asked.

"Of course I am," Ye Chuan said, refusing to be morally kidnapped.

Ma Xiaoyun was clearly no match for Ye Chuan in a verbal sparring. He took a deep breath. "Be careful, I'm much stronger than Huang Haotian."

"They call me the number one Taekwondo practitioner in Silver Mountain."

-A few seconds later-

Ma Xiaoyun was knocked out with a single punch from Ye Chuan and carried away.

One-punch K.O., what more was there to say?
