"Is the Academy Witch referring to me?"
That was what I thought as I asked again, wondering if even royalty from other countries knew such a strange nickname. However, including Loretto, everyone groaned and took a step backward.
"N-no, I apologize. It's not like I intended to insult you..."
"Indeed, I understand what you are trying to say. Loretto-sama... I understand very well."
Diageo, seeing Loretto's flustered demeanor, nodded in small increments, showing some kind of agreement. As I tilted my head at that, Isaac let out a dry laugh, spread his hands wide, and stepped forward.
"Perhaps, it was used to mean a great magician. In the past, there were those who called Headmaster Glenn the Academy Sage..."
The Academy Sage. I would have preferred that, but nicknames are not something you name yourself, I guess. Reluctantly nodding, I looked at Middleton.
"Well then, I'll be going now. I'll be giving my presentation at the central plaza soon, so please do come and see it."
After casually advertising my presentation, I gave a bow to everyone and turned on my heel. Alright, the cultural festival is almost over. I need to prepare properly, so I don't fail at the end.
The sun was gradually setting. The academy was illuminated by the red sun, and both the school buildings and the venue were dyed orange. The venue was overflowing with people as far as the eye could see.
The final presentations were only held at the central venue. Therefore, people were gathering from other venues as well. When the students were giving their presentations, the gathering of people was poor because King GranTz, the Grandsands King, conducted his own sales demonstration. However, now that he himself was standing like a guardian at the very front, there was no need to worry about that.
"...Now then, let's show everyone the various possibilities of magic."
I muttered, as if encouraging myself, and raised both hands above my head, lightly stretching my body. I took a deep breath, and closed my eyes.
The flow of the wind, the sound of people's breathing and the rustling of clothing, the feeling of my skin slightly flushed from being illuminated by the setting sun.
As I carefully felt these things, I opened my eyes.
I walked from the back of the venue towards the center. Then, the voices of the people that had been heard at the venue quieted down as if in response to it. By the time I stood at the center, everything was wrapped in complete silence.
I slowly looked around the venue that was dominated by silence, and gave a slight smile to Shenley and Isle who were mixed among the people, waving their hands.
"...Hello. I am Aoi Konominato, a teacher at Fiddiq Academy. Thank you very much for coming to see my presentation today."
I gave that greeting and bowed deeply. Slowly raising my body, I opened my mouth while looking at the gathered people.
"Today, I will present two magical techniques that I have developed. It may be a slightly unusual way of using magic, but I think it will be an interesting presentation to watch. I hope everyone enjoys it. Now then, let's begin the presentation."
I declared the start of the presentation and extended one hand forward. When I turned my palm forward, some people stiffened up.
Seeing that, I wondered if I made a mistake in how I started, but I figured it was too late, and so I continued on. Concentrating my magic power, I created a water sphere with water magic in front of my palm. I raised the temperature of that water sphere and then activated wind magic. When I used two kinds of magic simultaneously, sounds of surprise rose from a section of the venue.
Just as it was, I created a flow with the wind magic as if enveloping the water sphere, and increased its circulation speed. I covered the surroundings with wind like a tornado and compressed it towards the center. In the blink of an eye, what was just a water sphere changed into a tornado of water and wind about one meter in diameter.
The interior of the sphere rapidly accumulated static electricity, and it even began to emit electrical discharges outward. As intense discharge sounds echoed, sounds of gasping could be heard from the venue.
Should I make it even bigger this time?
As I considered such a thing, I raised my hand above my head. A compressed thundercloud gradually grew in the sky. In order to confirm that it had accumulated enough static electricity, I narrowed my eyes and looked above.
Seeing the sphere repeating its intense blinking, I nodded to myself.
"It is enough... Lightning Artillery, Tritonis Ray."
I muttered quietly, and used the magic.
Immediately after, a giant lightning bolt tore through the sunset sky. Because I had specified the direction I wanted it to go, the torrent of lightning was released in a straight line towards the sky without spreading to the surroundings.
It is a maximum-class magic capable of making even a large dragon crash. It's powerful and looks impressive, but the sound is the problem.
When lightning is generated, the air instantaneously expands due to heat, and a thunderous sound close to an explosive sound reverberates. Since it becomes a sound that is as loud as the lightning is close, it was inevitable that a thunderous sound that could deafen the ears would echo throughout the venue.
As I expected, most of the people in the venue had buckled at the knees and were sitting down.
"...I should have said something beforehand."
I muttered that quietly and reflected within my chest.
