In this particle world, there was a corpse of a Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique, which shocked Ye Fan deeply, making him think of many things at once. He said, “Take me to see it.”
“Please, it’s the middle of the night right now. What corpse are you going to see? Don’t you think it’s creepy? I find it unlucky,” Qin Yao twisted her round, slender waist, moving like a beautiful snake, swaying gracefully toward the door, sensual and captivating.
“When can you take me to see it?” Ye Fan gradually calmed down.
“That corpse isn’t something you can see just because you want to. Unless Princess Yan accompanies you inside, you won’t get to see it.” Qin Yao stopped.
“Why?” Ye Fan asked.
Qin Yao’s hair hung loose, her skin soft and pink, her demeanor lazy and charming. She gave him a sidelong glance and said, “The corpse of a Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique, not to mention anything else, just in terms of toughness, is rare in the world. It can be refined into a great weapon, extremely precious. Now it’s kept in the treasure vault, and ordinary people naturally can’t see it. What’s more, the Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique still holds many secrets.”
“What… refining the Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique into a weapon?!” Ye Fan touched his chin, feeling uncomfortable.
“Scared, aren’t you? You’d better be careful. Even though you’re only at the Dao Palace Realm, from your performance during the day, your body is already solid enough, tougher than divine weapons and treasured blades, excellent material for refining weapons.”
“Damn it!” Ye Fan couldn’t help cursing. He thought of the possible problems he might face in the future, that even his body might attract others’ coveting.
Qin Yao teased, “That’s why you’re quite valuable right now. If it comes to it, you could even sell yourself, I’m sure someone would pay a high price.”
“What would I sell myself for? If you want, I can take the loss and give myself to you,” Ye Fan joked.
“Would you let me refine weapons from you?” Qin Yao retorted.
“You’re too ruthless.”
“Otherwise, what use would you be to me?”
Ye Fan asked seriously, “Where was this Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique found?”
“It was found right in this particle world. When there’s time, I can have the princess take you to see it.” Qin Yao yawned, covering her mouth with a jade-like hand. “Enough talk, I’m going to sleep.”
“I have a place here. The bed’s big enough,” Ye Fan said with a grin, arms crossed.
“Go to hell, brat!” Qin Yao rolled her eyes at him, twisting her graceful figure as she left.
At dawn, a great fiery orb rose slowly from the east, spilling rays like morning glow.
Ye Fan didn’t find Qin Yao. He woke Tu Fei, planning to have him come along to the Demon City.
“I say, Little Ye, what are you running around for? You’re a big piece of fat meat right now. Aren’t you afraid some old demon will have their eyes on you?”
“I want to collect some materials for refining weapons, to make one of my own,” Ye Fan replied.
Tu Fei rolled his eyes. “Don’t you have a cauldron? Why forge another weapon?”
“Too many people are eyeing it now. Do you think I can just take it out and use it freely?”
“You don’t need to be in such a hurry, do you?” Tu Fei was suspicious.
“Hurry and take me. I also want to see what the Demon City is like.” Ye Fan also called the big black dog along. This trip, he was going to collect materials to break into the Ageless Chamber.
The Demon City wasn’t very large, but it was bustling. By the time the sun had risen high, they entered the city.
On both sides of the streets were many shops, most selling spirit medicines and weapons, with many demon cultivators gathered around.
In the city, one could see many strange people, some with horns growing from their heads, some with wings on their ribs, some dragging tails behind them… Quite a few demon cultivators had retained certain racial features, not having fully transformed into human form.
“A three-legged golden toad!” The big black dog stared at a demon cultivator in the distance and muttered, “Its blood is great for alchemy.”
“Damn it, don’t get any ideas. This is the Demon City. Saying that kind of thing will cause public outrage,” Tu Fei scolded.
“What kind of being do you think I am? I wouldn’t look twice at it. I was just saying, if you want to refine medicine, roc blood works even better.”
“Cut the showing off and behave,” Ye Fan warned.
“What materials do you need?” Tu Fei asked.
“Star Stone, Profound Ice Jade, Divine Blood Soil…” Ye Fan listed a string of names, all provided by the big black dog.
“Little Ye, what kind of materials are these? All weird and obscure things. They won’t be easy to find,” Tu Fei shook his head.
“They’re not exactly supreme materials. We should be able to find them in the Demon City,” Ye Fan said.
They went from shop to shop along the street, but only found a dozen types of materials. The big black dog had reported thirty-six types in total, so they were far from complete.
“This is the Azure Flood Dragon Monarch’s retreat. How come the Demon City can’t even gather these materials…” Ye Fan was puzzled.
“The problem is the materials you listed are too niche. Normally, no one uses them, so of course they’re hard to find.” Tu Fei seemed to remember something. “Right, there’s still one place we haven’t gone. It’s a free exchange market where many strange things turn up.”
“Good, let’s go there!”
The free market was in the northern district of the Demon City. There were plenty of people, much like a human market, most coming with hopes of finding treasures.
Many stalls displayed all sorts of strange materials.
“This is such a scam. Someone digs up an old tree root and dares to sell it as Blood Dragon Wood,” Ye Fan clicked his tongue.
Ahead, on a purple sandalwood table, lay an old tree root. The stall owner claimed shamelessly it was the rare root of Blood Dragon Wood.
“Buyers beware, that’s the rule here. Sometimes real treasures do show up, so a lot of people come treasure hunting,” Tu Fei explained.
They moved to another stall, where a piece of rag lay on the ground with only three fist-sized stones on it. They were bright red as blood, polished crystal clear, and looked good.
“Aren’t these just red pebbles picked up by the river? He actually dares to sell them as jade marrow…” Ye Fan was speechless.
“No, buy them!” The big black dog urgently sent him a voice transmission.
Ye Fan was intrigued and asked the seller, “How much for these three stones?”
“Ten kilo of source each.” The demon cultivator seller first looked at their clothes before naming the price, clearly adjusting it based on the buyer.
“Why don’t you just rob people? These three broken stones are obviously a scam,” Tu Fei stopped Ye Fan. “They’re river stones, don’t buy them.”
The big black dog grew anxious and bit Tu Fei’s calf, nearly making him stumble.
“Damn it, dead dog, you bit me again!” Tu Fei roared, and a man-dog fight almost broke out before Ye Fan hurried to mediate.
“I’ll take these three stones!” At that moment, a fragrant breeze approached. Qin Yao appeared, squatted down, and picked up one of the bright red stones.
The big black dog let go of Tu Fei and lunged forward.
Qin Yao was startled and quickly retreated, while the big black dog pressed its paw down on the remaining bright red stone.
“That’s the one I set my eyes on!” The big black dog bared its teeth at Qin Yao.
“You may have set your eyes on it, but you haven’t bought it yet.” Qin Yao chuckled, tossing two pieces of source to the seller. “I’ll take it.”
Knowing the stone was no ordinary item, Ye Fan also handed over ten kilo of source to the seller.
“Isn’t this just a river pebble?” Tu Fei asked, puzzled.
“You know nothing, this is a demon blood stone!” The big black dog was sulking, spitting out a beam of light to collect the red stone.
“What, a demon blood stone? I’m not selling it!” The seller tried to back out, but Qin Yao and the big black dog had already stowed them away.
Demon blood stones were said to be formed from the essence blood of Demon Supreme Giants after death.
They weren’t exactly peerless treasures, after so many years, most of the blood essence would have dissipated, but they had certain special effects, such as refining one’s demon blood and tempering demon bones.
The big black dog’s eyes flashed viciously. It was very annoyed, but here in demon territory, it knew better than to attack Qin Yao.
“Little girl, your realm isn’t high enough. You’re still far from rebirth by blood exchange. How about trading with me?” the big black dog asked.
Qin Yao laughed like silver bells. “Things like this are hard to come by. Even if I can’t use it now, I can save it for later.”
The big black dog was even more annoyed, while the seller regretted it deeply.
“What are you doing here?” Ye Fan asked.
“I often come here treasure hunting. But what are you doing wandering around?” Qin Yao asked back.
“I’m buying materials for weapon forging.”
“I already asked the princess. She said she can take you to see the Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique corpse.” Qin Yao smiled.
“What, is it a perfected Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique?” The big black dog’s eyes shone. “If it is, it could definitely be made into a peerless weapon.”
Ye Fan wanted to punch it.
“Kid, don’t glare at me. A Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique in the Dao Palace realm doesn’t interest me. I wouldn’t target you,” the big black dog muttered.
“I’ll go with you later to visit Princess Yan,” Ye Fan thanked Qin Yao.
After wandering the free market for over half an hour, Ye Fan had collected over a dozen materials, missing only eight types.
“We can come back in a few days. Maybe something new will turn up,” Tu Fei said.
Ye Fan nodded, feeling satisfied. Finding twenty-eight kinds of materials in the Demon City in such a short time was beyond his expectations.
If he really couldn’t gather them all, he could use source to make up the rest. No matter what, he was determined to save Pang Bo this time.
“We act tonight. Now let’s go see the Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique corpse!” Ye Fan sent a voice transmission to the big black dog, telling it to think about how to engrave Dao runes on these materials.
“Don’t worry. I can carve them all in half an hour!”
Hearing that, Ye Fan felt relieved, and went to visit Yan Ruyu in a relaxed mood.
In Yan Ruyu’s residence, spiritual energy coiled like dragons, auspicious light flowing. She was flawless, like the most exquisite masterpiece of heaven, breathtakingly beautiful.
“The Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique corpse is in the Azure Flood Dragon Monarch’s treasure vault. I can take you in to see it, but you can’t stay long.”
“Much appreciated!” Ye Fan thanked her.
From this, it was clear that Yan Ruyu held high status here, being able to enter and exit the Azure Flood Dragon Monarch’s treasure vault.
An ancient sage had opened up this particle world, leaving behind some ruins. The Azure Flood Dragon Monarch’s palace was built within one such ruin.
It was a towering mountain, piercing the clouds. On its peak stood palaces like those of heaven itself.
Besides Yan Ruyu and Ye Fan, Qin Yao, Tu Fei, and the big black dog also came along.
Before a massive palace complex, Yan Ruyu stopped. This was a forbidden area, where trespassers would be killed on sight. Several old demons guarded it personally, and even Yan Ruyu was very respectful toward them.
Some of the old demons clearly had little life left. They were so aged their faces were buried in wrinkles, eyes closed, with snow-white eyebrows over half a foot long, and bald heads without a single hair.
Some swept the ground, some tended flowers, others played chess, moving slowly like ordinary elderly people in their twilight years.
Yet no one dared to underestimate them. These old demons were the Azure Flood Dragon Monarch’s veteran subordinates. Though near death, their strength was terrifying. If angered, they could sweep an entire region. Several of them looked deeply at Ye Fan, then said nothing, opening the massive white jade gate.
In an instant, spirit energy surged out like a tide. Inside, the light was dazzling, forcing them to squint.
Once they stepped inside, the over-one-meter-thick white jade door rumbled shut behind them. But the treasure vault was not dark, it was bright as day.
“Damn, it’s all treasures!” The big black dog wanted to leap into the treasure piles, but restrained itself.
The treasure vault was vast, divided into nine great halls, with treasures shining everywhere, dreamlike and dazzling.
A golden holy sword floated in midair, sword energy radiating in countless streams, golden brilliance flashing, murderous intent boundless.
A scarlet blood magic spear glowed like a curtain of blood, its sinister sharpness radiating divine power, impossible to look at directly.
A purple copper divine bell shone with divine light, purple aura swirling around it, ringing softly on its own, as though a primordial sound was traveling through time from the distant past.
An ancient coiling dragon cauldron stood, solemn and massive, suppressing the void itself, with true dragons winding around it, its runes mysterious and unfathomable.
…One heavy weapon after another, one treasure after another, all rare and precious, leaving people stunned.
“These are all heavy weapons. The Azure Flood Dragon Monarch is too rich. He should be robbed…” the big black dog muttered softly, voicing its true thoughts.
Ye Fan glared at it fiercely, this damn dog was too greedy, wanting to rob treasures everywhere.
Tu Fei was also dumbfounded. “So many treasures, the nine great halls packed full, how many tonnes of sources would this be worth?!”
Besides weapons, there were also countless precious materials, glowing brilliantly.
“Isn’t that Blood Dragon Wood? That’s definitely real, not like the roots on the street stalls,” the big black dog licked its lips.
Ahead, a dried piece of wood shone crimson, shaped like a dragon, crystal-clear and radiant.
“That jade disc has a Divine Phoenix Grass sealed inside, priceless!” Tu Fei exclaimed.
Within the white jade disc, the Divine Phoenix Grass shone brilliantly, its glow forming the vague shape of a phoenix.
“What’s that bead?”
Ye Fan saw a huge orb the size of a human head, with countless rays swirling around it, floating up and down.
“That’s a flood dragon pearl, a rare treasure!” The big black dog felt unbearably itchy inside, wanting to rush forward and swallow it whole.
Scarlet copper essence, five-colored ancient vine, starfall iron… all sorts of materials radiated endless light. The treasure vault was filled with everything imaginable, making people want to grab it all.
Rare treasures without number, a true treasure vault, the collection of a demon powerhouse, dazzling and overwhelming.
Soon, Ye Fan was drawn by a mysterious aura, compelled to walk toward the deepest part of the vault.
The surrounding treasures dimmed instantly, only that aura pulling at his heart and soul.
He stepped into the ninth treasure hall, and his pupils contracted sharply, he saw the corpse of the Primeval Desolate Sacred Physique.
Here, treasures were even more abundant, piled into small mountains, brilliant and dazzling.
In the very center sat a dried corpse, unmoving, cross-legged. Though its flesh was withered, it had not decayed, clinging tightly to the bones.
“It’s… actually undying…”
The big black dog and Tu Fei were astonished.
Ye Fan, however, stood frozen like a clay statue, motionless.
