Ch. 47 - Even Ghosts Get Tased

The female ghost started running around the classroom.

Or rather, floating, as the lower part of her legs were translucent and didn't touch the ground.

She sobbed, clutching the little white flag. "I… I just want to live. I already died once, can't you find another ghost?"

"This little thing is pretty fast." Seeing the female ghost's speed, Zhang Chao called out to Wang Yanran, "Is there any way to restrain her?!"

Ghosts usually had their specialties.

This female ghost's specialty was clearly speed.

Clearly it was for running away.

But no matter how fast she was, the walls and door were sealed with talismans, and a low-level ghost like her couldn't break them.

Seeing that Zhang Chao couldn't catch her, Wang Yanran took out another talisman, which burst into flames.

"Bind!"

The talisman stopped mid-air and transformed into several red chains of light, binding the fleeing female ghost!

"Eek?!!!"

The chains wrapped tightly around her neck, waist, and thighs, making her already large backpack even more prominent.

"Whoa, that's handy," Zhang Chao said, impressed by the sight.

It seemed the Wang family's ghost control techniques were truly formidable. 

Among all the families, the Wangs were the most interested in dealing with ghosts and spirits.

"This only works on low-level ghosts, and I only have a few of these," Wang Yanran said. 

She had come prepared for this assessment; it was related to her position in the Wang family, so she couldn't afford to be careless.

Even if it was just dealing with a low-level ghost.

"I can probably kill her with one punch," Zhang Chao grinned, looking at the bound ghost.

"Then hurry up," Wang Yanran glanced at the burning talisman. It would lose its effect once it was completely burned.

"Hehe."

Zhang Chao walked up to the female ghost. "Tsk tsk, what did you eat growing up? Too bad you're going to die by my hand today."

"Waaah, what did I do wrong? I never harmed anyone, and I hid during the day," the female ghost sobbed even louder.

"Your existence itself is a mistake," Zhang Chao shook his head. 

"A formed ghost like you, with accumulated resentment, will eventually harm people."

"N-no, I don't have any resentment! I choked to death on instant noodles!" the female ghost quickly said.

"Zhang Chao!" Wang Yanran snapped, seeing him chatting with the ghost. "Hurry up!"

Just as Zhang Chao raised his fist with a cruel grin, the door suddenly burst open!

The loud bang startled them, and the room fell silent for a moment. They all turned towards the door—

A boy with slightly messy hair stood there, as if he had been running.

"Huh? What kind of roleplay are you guys doing?" Ye Chuan noticed the girl bound by chains of light and froze. "Tied up like that? Kinky."

Wang Yanran narrowed her eyes, hearing Ye Chuan's words.

"Who are you? Why can you see this ghost?"

Ordinary people couldn't see ghosts unless they had a natural Spirit Eye. This boy's words clearly indicated that he wasn't ordinary!

"Zhang Chao!" Wang Yanran immediately warned. "He's not an ordinary person!"

Zhang Chao grunted and sized up Ye Chuan's attire. "Which family are you from?"

"Me?" Ye Chuan pointed at himself and chuckled.

"Heh."

He looked at the bound female ghost and recognized her as his target.

He had expected her to look terrifying, but she looked like an ordinary girl.

And quite pretty too. Keeping her at home seemed like a good idea.

"I don't know what you're doing, but I want her too. How about we discuss this?" Ye Chuan said, his tone relatively calm.

Wang Yanran frowned. "This is just an ordinary wild ghost."

"I'm not wild!" The bound female ghost immediately corrected, her body wriggling like a caterpillar. 

"I have a name! It's Lan XiaoKe, Lan—Xiao—Ke!"

"Shut up!"

Wang Yanan slapped a talisman onto the female ghost's thigh. With a sizzling sound, she convulsed as if she had been electrocuted.

"Waaah, that hurts!" After the electrocution, Lan XiaoKe sobbed, tears streaming down her face, her white uniform scorched.

"A nameless rat who doesn't dare to reveal his origins? Then just die here!"

Zhang Chao didn't care who Ye Chuan was. Seeing that he wouldn't reveal his background, he sneered and lunged forward without hesitation, throwing a punch at Ye Chuan!

Ye Chuan casually blocked the punch with his arm.

Zhang Chao's fist landed on his arm, and Ye Chuan glanced at him. In the next second, blue light flowed through his arm, which became covered in shimmering scales.

"You want to fight?" Ye Chuan said indifferently.

"So hard?! Spiritual energy?!" Zhang Chao stepped back, surprised. "Are you also a superpowered warrior?"

"Superpowered warrior?" After processing the information, Ye Chuan didn't overthink it and punched Zhang Chao in the jaw without hesitation!

His speed was too fast. With a heavy thud, Zhang Chao's eyes rolled back, and he collapsed to the ground.

"Kids these days, falling asleep so easily." Ye Chuan looked away from Zhang Chao and walked straight towards Wang Yanran.

Seeing Zhang Chao knocked out with a single punch, Wang Yanran was surprised. 

Although Zhang Chao had a bad temper, he was one of the strongest among their generation. Who was this boy who had suddenly appeared?

"Hey, friend, how about you let me have this busty girl, okay?" Ye Chuan's words reeked of street food vendor vibes.

Wang Yanran realized that he was mocking her and became angry.

"I am Wang Yanran of the Wang family!"

"Don't know you," Ye Chuan's words choked her.

Wang Yanran took a step back, then turned and ran!

Ye Chuan froze.

Huh?

Shouldn't she have tried to fight him and then get beaten up?

And she was just abandoning her unconscious companion?

Wang Yanran didn't care. Zhang Chao was down, she was clearly no match for this guy, and self-preservation was her top priority.

Ye Chuan didn't bother chasing her. He reached out and crushed the floating talisman. Lan XiaoKe fell to the ground, clutching her head, sobbing.

"I won't run anymore, please don't tase me! Waaah, it's not like I'm in Myanmar, even ghosts get tased here."

"Just kill me! Don't make me die so painfully again."

Seeing Lan XiaoKe cowering, Ye Chuan stroked his chin.
