Ch. 64 - Scheming For The Supreme Treasure

Ye Fan turned away and walked off, muttering under his breath, “Damn fat Duan, I curse you to have a son without a butthole!”

“I’m a monk. I won’t be taking a wife or having children,” came the reply.

“You can hear that too?” Ye Fan was starting to fear him. “Daoist Duan, just go already! You’ve snatched three treasures from me. Aren’t you satisfied?!”

“Our karmic bond isn’t over yet…” the fat Daoist said with a beaming smile.

“You goddamn con artist, you’re pushing me too far!” Ye Fan’s face darkened as he stormed down the mountain. He couldn’t afford to tangle with this shameless Daoist, so he had no choice but to leave.

“Fate brings people together and takes them apart,” the Daoist said cheerfully, not following. “It seems our bond ends here today. But who knows about tomorrow? Perhaps we’ll meet again.” Then he turned to the rock wall and said, “Now, I feel I’m fated with this cliff, so I’ve decided to stay and take a look.”

Ye Fan was surprised. He hadn’t expected this shameless fat bastard to be so sharp. He too had sensed that something was unusual about the rock wall. Ye Fan immediately stopped and didn’t leave either.

“Since you stayed, I promise you’ll gain something. But don’t touch anything too flashy. I say this for your own good. With your current cultivation, you can’t protect a sentient weapon. If someone sets their eyes on it, you could lose more than just the treasure, you might lose your life. Not everyone is as merciful as I am. Many would kill while snatching a sentient weapon.”

In that instant, all cultivators trembled. Many couldn’t even control their divine rainbows and plummeted from the sky. An overwhelming sense of dread filled the air. The oppressive force was irresistible. Even their souls shook with fear.

This was the terrifying might of the five supreme figures. When their god power surged, all beings trembled. Terror filled the hearts of every living thing.

That final strike from the five apex cultivators shattered the Demon Emperor’s tomb completely, unleashing a monstrous surge of baleful energy that swept in all directions.

The grand ancient temple groaned and then fully collapsed.

At the same time, endless radiant beams shot outward as all the sentient weapons buried within the ancient tomb erupted into the sky. Among them, a few beams were exceptionally brilliant, dazzling beyond compare, like dawning suns lighting up the heavens. There was no doubt these were the most powerful treasures.

The five supreme beings each unleashed their god-powers, reaching out with massive hands. Each of them managed to capture one weapon and looked pleased. However, a few of those mini-sun-like weapons slipped through their fingers and shot into the sky, fleeing.

But the great figures didn’t chase after them. They remained in place, scanning the surroundings with divine sense, clearly searching for something. They let the other sentient weapons escape without a second thought.

The overwhelming energy surged far and wide, driving all the cultivators into a frenzy. They ignored the dangers and plunged into the blinding light, chasing after the treasures.

The Demon Emperor’s tomb had completely collapsed, even the debris scattered in all directions. All that remained was a blinding ocean of energy.

“Why hasn’t the Eastern Wilderness’ Human Race’s supreme treasure shown up?”

“The Demon Emperor’s weapon is said to rival our own supreme treasure, but we haven’t seen it either!”

The five mighty figures looked puzzled, scanning everywhere with their powerful divine senses.

Boom!

Suddenly, from the center of the dazzling light, a blinding beam of light burst forth, making the sun, moon, and stars pale in comparison.

It was so brilliant, it felt like the sun had exploded!

Even the five supreme cultivators had to squint and shield their eyes. The radiance stung like blades. Yet their reactions were swift, they all reached out with immense hands.

Shhh!

The divine light shot through the air, bursting with unmatched energy. It was like a churning cosmos. The terrifying fluctuations forced the five great figures backward and even dimmed the glow of the weapons they held.

The dazzling divine light streaked across the sky, creating devastating shockwaves that sent many cultivators crashing from the sky. It radiated overpowering demonic energy, as if an entire world were burning. Nothing could stop it.

“It’s the Demon Emperor’s personal weapon, comparable to the Eastern Wilderness’s supreme treasure!”

The five experts immediately realized this. Three of them gave chase. The other two stayed behind, still searching for the legendary treasure of the Eastern Wilderness.

In the distance, Ye Fan stood dumbfounded. That brilliant beam of light was heading straight for the stone mountain!

Beside him, the fat Daoist rubbed his hands together and grinned ear to ear. “What fortune! The Demon Emperor’s weapon is no less than the Eastern Wilderness’s supreme treasure. If I get it…”

“Can you even catch it?” Ye Fan asked nervously. The weapon was almost upon them. If the fat Daoist couldn’t catch it, they’d be flattened into dust, it would be a tragic end.

“Good point. I probably don’t have that kind of luck. Even if I could catch it, those three great figures behind it would crush me anyway. Let’s go!” Without hesitation, he grabbed Ye Fan and dashed to another mountain faster than a rabbit.

The Demon Emperor’s weapon released tens of thousands of divine rays. The brilliance was so blinding that no one could see its form. It was like billions of stars burning at once. The entire world shook violently as it crashed into the stone mountain with a deafening boom.

“It’s over…” The fat Daoist rubbed his hands nervously. “That ruined everything. There was definitely some treasure under that mountain, but it can’t withstand a direct hit from the Demon Emperor’s weapon, it’s probably all dust now. What a waste…”

The area was completely swallowed in light, becoming a vast ocean of energy. The shockwave blasted away every nearby cultivator. Some who were too close were instantly torn apart, vanishing in blood mist.

But then something astonishing happened, the stone mountain split open, releasing gentle green light. Beams of soft green energy soared into the sky.

This gentle, holy light calmed the mind. The faint green glow pulsed with vibrant life, like an oasis emerging in the sky.

At that moment, a giant green treasure bowl surged out from the ground and absorbed the Demon Emperor’s weapon into it!

“A-a-a-Amitabha!!” The fat Daoist stammered. He exhaled forcefully and shouted, “It’s the Demon Clan’s Treasure Bowl!”

“Someone was hiding there, lying in wait with the Treasure Bowl, scheming to snatch the Demon Emperor’s supreme weapon!” He immediately understood. That’s why sentient weapons kept flying toward the cliff, it was due to the legendary Treasure Bowl inside. Even though its aura was being suppressed, it still attracted treasures.

The Treasure Bowl looked like it was carved from green jade marrow, glowing vividly, radiating divine green light across the sky. Its soft brilliance made one feel utterly comfortable.

Inside the bowl, an incredibly radiant mass of light swirled, it was the Demon Emperor’s weapon. Blinding and elusive, it spun like a cosmic galaxy. Torrents of vast demonic energy and divine light poured out in all directions.

Ye Fan’s heart trembled. The person standing before the Treasure Bowl was stunningly beautiful, the flawless woman he had seen not long ago.

She looked ethereal and holy, still pure and untainted, a peerless beauty. She quickly stored the Treasure Bowl and turned into a stream of light, vanishing into the distance. She left behind a voice as melodious as heavenly chimes:

“Thank you, seniors, for your assistance. Without you, even the heirs of the Demon Emperor wouldn’t have been able to retrieve the Emperor’s weapon…”

The three great figures who had chased after the weapon wore cold expressions. They had carved many dao runes outside the Demon Emperor’s tomb, creating a powerful force of Heavenly Might. Though they failed to stop the weapon, they had weakened its impact. Yet now, someone else had swooped in and taken it, despite having the Treasure Bowl, she couldn’t have succeeded without their help.

The three masters struck together, hurling devastating attacks at the vanishing light in the sky. The energy waves were godlike, no ordinary being could survive them. The sky seemed to catch fire, blinding and terrifying. All nearby cultivators fled in panic.

But their attack hit only empty air. Nothing was there.

The sky filled with multicolored light. The woman vanished in a flash, escaping into the glowing aura.

“That little demon girl was prepared all along. She carved ‘Dao runes’ in advance and created ‘Heavenly Might’ to traverse space. She’s probably already thousands of miles away.”

The three masters’ voices were cold. Someone had set up all this under their noses, stealing the Demon Emperor’s treasure right from their grasp. It was infuriating.

“Opening the tomb was easy. But stopping the treasure? Nearly impossible. We ended up helping her…”

With a flash of light, the three vanished, speeding toward the shattered center of the tomb. They were after the Eastern Wilderness’s Human Race’s supreme treasure, which still hadn’t appeared, the one they desired most.

“Why hasn’t the Eastern Wilderness treasure shown up yet…” the fat Daoist muttered.

Ye Fan was curious too. He had heard so many people mention it, but no one knew what it actually was. Clearly, even the most powerful figures were desperate to possess it.
