Ch. 25 - Scars (2)

It was probably not an execution whip, just a type of whip that inflicted pain and fear.

It was not powerful enough to break the skin or bone, but it was loud and the pain lingered.

There were many traces, just barely concealed by the dress, marked relentlessly. The mixture of red, purple, and black was as if a viper had coiled around her body, consuming her soul.

Perhaps Charlotte was unaware that the marks were located on her body where she could not see them.

Allen sneered as he worked through the fury seething from the pit of his stomach

"Yeah. It looks good on you..." Great Healing Radical Care.

"Ah?"

A faint light enveloped Charlotte.

Earlier her hair was changed, now, it was her whole body. The light quickly faded away, leaving behind a bewildered Charlotte.

Allen gently patted her back.

The damned whip marks had disappeared cleanly. Not even the slightest scar remained on the white skin. There was no way he could have left them as it was.

Allen smiled mischievously at a puzzled Charlotte.

"There was an acne scar on your back. I've erased it."

"Oh... that's embarrassing..."

"What, it's a sign of good health and while I was at it, I took care of the whole body. Even the hangnail of your finger should have healed."

"That's great, brother! What a convenient aesthetician you are!"

Erika exaggeratedly slapped Allen on the back .

Smoothed over with their little act, the secret was now safely tucked away in the hearts of the siblings.

... During her household management training, whenever you made a mistake, were you only told 'you only know how to make me mad?'

Allen could not correctly guess what those words meant. It was his fault, there was no other way to put it.

At the beginning of the protection, he thought of giving her medical treatment. He asked her if there was anywhere that hurt as only scratches on the limbs and malnutrition were diagnosed and treated.

There were no lies in Charlotte's words at that time. It would be the case too. With the shape of that whip, the pain would disappear the next day. It just left a mark like a curse.

He couldn't imagine why Charlotte could have that kind of feeling. Still, it's enough grounds to give him a hint of her circumstances so far... goosebumps sprang over his back

But it did not show on his face at all. The only one who would have noticed was Erika, who was laughing beside Allen.

In the first place, the traces of the whip marks could be cleaned off with simple magic. In other words, Charlotte... wasn't even allowed to receive such treatment.

"I see... Hey, Erika."

"What?"

Erika returned an innocent smile.

Allen told his sister all his intentions.

"As I said earlier, I'm planning to get rid of them completely. Can you help me?"

"Of course, leave it to me."

Erika said smugly with a thumbs up.

Charlotte, who could not grasp the whole story, could only cock her head with confusion.

"What are you getting rid of?"

"Oh, it seems that insects have sprung up in the book that I left at my parents' house. I asked Erika to dry it in the sun."

"Ah, insects... I don't quite like them either."

"What a coincidence! I hate it too, to the point of revulsion."

Charlotte lowered her eyes, and Allen smirked at her.

Scary things like insects and ghosts, those kinds of fears, to that degree were fine to have.

Beyond that... Allen thoroughly dismissed it.

Behind his smile, he made such a determination.

He was not going to tell Charlotte about that decision yet. Instead, Erika seemed to have guessed. He patted Charlotte's unblemished back and told her with a smile.

"Now, now, that's enough idle chatter! The fashion show is still going on! Next is this, and this, and this!"

"Wait, ...... isn't that almost just a thread already?"

"Can you even call these clothes?"

"It's fine. It's fine. It will hide the important parts albeit barely."

Erika then tried to push the clothes or threads onto Charlotte.

Apparently, the threat was closer than expected.

"As her guardian, I will not allow any more exposure! I will judge the clothes you put on her!"

"Boo! Anyone can complain! If you're so frustrated, pick an outfit that looks good!"

"Fine! Get ready to tremble from my outstanding fashion sense!!"

"Eh, uh, ah..."

Despite Charlotte being confused, the battle between Crawford and his sister was extremely fierce.
