Aina watched the war progression from the shadows in the grass. Zhaviest's unleashed flock of angels had brought down the Cyclops and his giants, seemingly oblivious to the faith-caster demons' magic.
In the distance, giant crystals with Serphiano's face projected on them were lined up at equal intervals. Aina felt a sense of unease when she saw Serphiano's face, thinking she had developed a strange magical tool.
The Giant Army Corps had been destroyed, and their magic was ineffective. And yet the corners of her mouth turned up slightly as if she was expecting something.
Aina looked at Zhaviest with a bad feeling. Zhaviest was near the boulder that the cyclops had just thrown. A moment later, the rock twitched as if it had a will of its own. The boulder revealed a vicious face with eyes and a mouth. With a muddled voice, the rock laughed.
"Gigigi! Glory to the demon lord's army!"
A moment later, a flash of light was emitted and the boulder exploded. Immediately, the four-winged guardian angel behind Zhaviest spread his wings to protect his charge. Furthermore, an accompanying boy leaped in front of Zhaviest.
(A mineral demon! Serphiano, you cunning vixen!)
Aina bit her lip lightly and ran to Zhaviest's side. When the black smoke cleared, Zhaviest and the boy were lying on the ground.
"Lord Zhaviest!"
"Ouch—. You played a cheap trick on me."
Apparently, the angel's protection was not enough to prevent damage. Zhaviest was holding his leg. Even so, it seems that his life was not at risk. The problem was the child who became his shield. His whole body was burnt, and his breathing was labored. The wound was fatal.
Although the time was critical, Zhaviest gave Aina a calm smile.
"Ahh, this is Miss Aina. Could it be that you have come as reinforcements?" Nodding her head, Aina shouted out.
"Lord Zhaviest! With your heavenly power of healing, treat the boy!"
Aina had seen Zhaviest regenerate Marguerite's missing arm before. It's all right! Equipped with that healing ability, I'm sure he can save the child!
Zhaviest walked toward the boy with a hobbling limp. He then held out his right hand towards the boy.
(Eh…)
Aina's eyes widened in shock. Zhaviest laughed and placed his left hand on his injured leg. The child held in his right hand convulsed, and Zhaviest's wound closed instead.
"Right-o. It's healed."
Aina shouted as she witnessed the moment when the child, with a smiling face, drew his last breath.
"J-Just now, what the hell did you do!?"
"Ahh. I was given a portion of his life force, you know."
The child was dead as if he had fallen asleep. It was similar to the villagers of Leaven whose life force had been sucked out of them by a drain.
(No way…!)
Aina realized and looked back at the angels.
(If these angels were created in the same way, then it would mean! To obtain this scale of life energy, the life energy of a town's worth of humans is necessary! If that is the case!)
"Cove town and the village of Leaven, you were…!"
"The heavenly power is the divine power of divergence. To eradicate the Demon Lord's army, we needed the life force of multiple humans as collateral. This is something that can't be helped, you know."
"Misappropriation? This is, you know ——— it's called misuse! You IDIOT!"
Aina glared at Zhaviest with eyes brimming with anger.
"You are an enemy of mankind, aren't YOU!!?"
"Miss Aina. I am very disappointed in you. I was sure you had noticed and had come as reinforcements for me…" "That can't be true! Right? If I knew, who would join you!?"
A dozen angels descend upon the openly hostile Aina.
"Haa. You are the same as that green, naive brat, aren't you? If you are, your assistance is already enough as it is. Instead, you can become fertilizer for Heavenly Power."
"Don't make light of me!!"
(The angels are the same as me, female type! The effect is weakened against same-sex opponents! I'll use my certain-death special flow to attack them all at once!)
"Pritis's 48 Gestures — Twenty-Seventh Gesture, 'Push-up Breasts (Tits Persuasion)'!"
Aina revealed her bosom, creating a cleavage. She then lowered her hips,
"Pritis's 48 Gestures — Forty-Seventh Gesture, 'Love Shot'!"
In front of her cleavage, she formed a heart with both hands. This was Aina's certain-death signature flow, which managed to defeat even the undead of the Immortal Fleet. This was a series of consecutive Pritis gestures that was effective against multiple opponents at once.
But the angels burst into laughter with a mixture of mockery and scorn.
"What the hell, is that! That's not cute at all."
"I'd say it's more of a sex appeal thing, if anything."
"Vulgar woman."
(Damn—! I knew it, the effect is weak on the angels! But, what about Zhaviest…?)
Suddenly, a man, without a shred of reserve, slammed his fist into Aina's abdomen. With a "Gaha–!" Aina vomited the contest of her stomach and fell.
"Myyy bad. I'm not interested in little urchins at all!"
Then, Zhaviest grabbed Aina by the hair.
"The hero did it, and you as well, what's with all these stupid techniques?"
"Pritis is… the one and only ultimate technique that surpasses attack power and magical power…"
"HUH? The Heavenly power is the strongest, the one and only ultimate power. Your power is a sham, you half-wit."
Zhaviest then slammed Aina's face into the ground. Tears and nosebleeds streamed down Aina's face.
