Ch. 127 - Cultural Festival 7 - Royalty

After watching Eliza's presentation, I continued my way to tour the cultural festival. It seemed that Glenn was guiding the royalty from various countries, but I didn't know what route he was taking, so I hadn't encountered him yet.

"Aoi-sensei!"

"Yes?"

As I was wandering around, I was called by my name, and I turned around. There were Ayle and the others. Ayle, Liz, and Bell were holding bread and meat skewers, and they seemed to be enjoying the festival the most so far.

"Hello. Are you three touring together?"

When I asked, Ayle nodded with her eyebrows furrowed.

"Yes. In the morning, we were with Shenley, but before noon, his father arrived, and we separated from them."

"Shenley-san's father? I see… Do you know where they went?"

"Eh? I think they went to the central plaza, or something like that..."

When I asked about Shenley's location, Ayle blinked her eyes and told me.

"Thank you. I'm a little concerned, so I'll go check on them."

When I told them that, Ayle and the others seemed to understand something, and they just replied without saying they would come along.

When I headed to the central plaza, I noticed that the number of people and the atmosphere had increased a bit. Since the advanced faculty members' presentations had finished, I thought that the number of people would have decreased, but now many people were gathering in the plaza where there were no presentations.

And, looking closely, besides the residents and people who came to sightsee from other countries, there were also many people who looked like knights wearing armour. Among them, there were also the figures of magicians from other countries wearing robes. I thought that it was because various people gathered for the advanced faculty members' presentations, but it seemed that wasn't the case.

"Oh, Aoi-kun."

I thought that when Glenn called out to me.

"Headmaster Glenn, you were in the middle of guiding them, weren't you?"

Saying that, I looked at the people lined up behind Glenn. Of course, I saw Middleton and Rhea, as well as Diageo and Ramsay, whom I had met in Maple Leaf. And, there was also a short, black-bearded man and a plump, blonde man. Because I knew more than half of them and knew their status, I naturally knew what kind of people the other two were as well.

"Oh, it’s you. It's been a while, Aoi-sensei."

"It's been a while, Aoi-sensei."

Middleton and Rhea greeted me in a friendly manner, so I replied. Diageo and Ramsay also came over to me.

"Aoi-dono. It's been a long time."

"Thank you for your help last month."

I replied to Diageo's greeting. Ramsay looked at the three of them, then grinned, revealing his teeth with a ferocious smile.

"Felter will be making his presentation on the morning of the final day in the eastern plaza. I will participate there as his test opponent. I would also like to fight against Aoi-dono there. How about it?"

When Ramsay said that with his chest puffed out, Diageo turned back with a surprised look.

"Marquis Ramsay. You don't mean to fight Aoi-dono, do you?"

When Diageo asked, Ramsay raised an eyebrow skillfully and shrugged his shoulders.

"I hear that she is a strong person who even defeated Felter. I want to spar with her, with only large-scale magic prohibited. If she is willing, she could take on both Felter and I, but it's said that she defeated even a dragon single-handedly. It would be better to have a one-on-one battle with all the preparations in order."

Saying that, Ramsay laughed as if suppressing his joy. Diageo looked at his expression, then deeply furrowed his brows.

"What are you saying? I am still confident that I am the strongest in my country. I can't afford to lose in the name of my country."

"…I think it would be better if you didn't put your country's name on the line."

When Diageo muttered that with an indescribable face, Middleton and Rhea couldn't help but smile wryly.

Then, a black-bearded man approached, laughing cheerfully.

"Well, well, it's good to see that everyone is having fun. Now, I am Grantz Highriver Grandsands, King of the Grandsands Kingdom. I have been wanting to meet the rumoured advanced faculty member, Aoi-dono."

King Grantz of the Grandsands Kingdom greeted me with a friendly atmosphere. I returned his bow and opened my mouth.

"Thank you for your courtesy. As you seem to know, I am Aoi Konominato. I look forward to working with you."

While answering, I remembered that he was the king of the country that Eliza came from. If I remember correctly, the Grandsands Kingdom has the fewest students attending Fiddiq Academy. I know Eliza was the only faculty member.

Considering these things, I could understand the talk that the Grandsands Kingdom was the country where magic development was the slowest. If I recall correctly, Glenn said that it was a country that makes very good weapons and armour, but I wonder what it actually was like.

Thinking about various things, I shifted my gaze to another person. Then finally, the plump, blonde man raised his face and opened his mouth.

"Am I last? I am Loretto Black of the Karvan Kingdom. I am the head of the Duke family and also the younger brother of the current king. The rumours are... well, I would like to say that, but I am the type of person who only believes what I see with my own eyes. I will be looking forward to the final day's presentation."

While saying that, Loretto turned a stern gaze toward me. However, the other party is a duke, and I am the equivalent of a regular citizen. It might be like this.

"It's not that I'm being polite… but I look forward to working with you."

When I gave a light greeting, Loretto's face twitched slightly. And, in the back, Rhea was holding back her laughter and turning her face away, and Glenn was holding his head.
