Shen Wushuang's face went blank with exasperation, but he still pulled out two High-Grade Beast Orbs on the spot.
"Rest assured, everyone! I will fulfill my duties with the utmost dedication."
Suddenly, Wang Yun spoke up. "Teacher, aren't you being a bit too biased?"
Shen Wushuang replied flatly, "Everything is based on strength. As long as you're stronger than him, the class monitor position is yours."
He looked at Chen Shu. "Begin the lesson."
Chen Shu looked confused. "Lesson? What lesson?"

Shen Wushuang's mouth twitched. This bastard was going to play dumb right here and now?
"Teacher, I believe that's a separate fee."
"Cut the crap! Give me back those orbs!"
Shen Wushuang walked over to him, about to snatch them back by force.
"I'll teach! I'll teach!"
Chen Shu blurted out immediately. Once something was in his hands, there was no way in hell it was going back.
"Xiaoyu, your Fire Bird's Fireball doesn't have to be launched all at once. You can release them based on the situation."
Chen Shu walked over to the Fire Bird and said, "There are eight fireballs total. You can try holding them in your mouth to see if you can combine them into one bigger fireball."
"Also, you don't have to be so rigid about shooting them from the mouth. You could try other places, like the butt..."
With that, Chen Shu fiddled with the Fire Bird's feathers, wanting to see if fireballs could be launched from its rear end.
SCREECH!
The Fire Bird flapped its wings and shot up into the sky, eyes filled with rage as it screeched at Chen Shu repeatedly.
You're actually insane!
Xu Xiaoyu was equally speechless. Since when did fireballs come out of butts?
"Xiaoyu, you should try it."
Shen Wushuang's eyes lit up as he said this with complete seriousness.
"Teacher..." Xu Xiaoyu hadn't expected Shen Wushuang to be just as abnormal as Chen Shu.
"If it actually works, that's the element of surprise right there. As long as it wins the fight, it doesn't matter where the fireballs come from."
Shen Wushuang hadn't expected Chen Shu's ideas to be so... unconventional!
Chen Shu then moved on to Tang Lie, examining his Wind Runner Beast.
Though Tang Lie didn't want Chen Shu's guidance, it was the teacher's order, so he couldn't refuse.
Chen Shu considered it for a moment, then said with a deadpan expression, "No hope. Just restart."

Chen Shu proceeded to give advice on everyone else's contract spirit skills. The point wasn't necessarily to follow his exact suggestions, but to teach them to think for themselves. Of course, thinking was one thing—actually doing it was another matter entirely. Every student in the class had at least a B-rank contract spirit; great potential, but generally low Obedience Level.
Only Chen Shu's Slime could perfectly replicate his ideas. Couldn't be helped—the Slime's intelligence... uh... Obedience Level was just too high.
The class spent the entire day practicing contract spirit control. It was a skill every trainee Beast Tamer had to master.

"Let's go grab some food!"
The trio left the Beast Taming Arena.
"Hold on, I need to pick something up at the school gate."
Chen Shu and Xie Sunan stood there dumbfounded as a black sports car pulled up at the campus entrance, drawing curious looks from numerous students.
An elderly man in a black tailcoat stepped out, holding a small box in his hands.
"Young Master! Here are the Beast Taming Pearls you requested!"
Xu Xingxing took the box from the old man's hands and immediately ran back into campus.
"Holy crap, a domineering CEO?"
Chen Shu's eyes went wide as he stared at Xu Xingxing in shock.
Xie Sunan said, "Xingxing, do you have stomach problems? Frequent insomnia? A germaphobe? And is your real surname actually Gu?"
"Huh? What the hell are you on about?"
Xu Xingxing was bewildered, having no idea what Xie Sunan was talking about.
Chen Shu followed up with curiosity. "Xingxing, when you're constipated, do you put on a cold, arrogant face and say: 'Hmph, come out on your own!'?"
"You two are seriously ill!" Xu Xingxing had never been this speechless in his entire life.
Outside the school gate, the old man watched Xu Xingxing and murmured, "It's been so long since I've seen the young master laugh like this."

"Seriously though, Xingxing, your family's this rich and you still work part-time at the mental hospital?"
Chen Shu took the Beast Taming Pearls from Xu Xingxing—seven in total, worth about 1.05 million Huaxia Currency, roughly the same as the prize Shen Wushuang had given out.
"Chen Pi, what are you saying? We're the ones working part-time. Xingxing's just experiencing life."
The three joked around, their dynamic unchanged despite learning about Xu Xingxing's family background. Chen Shu had his system, so even if he did absolutely nothing and lay flat every day, he'd still become powerful. And Xie Sunan had his divine skill—even the richest people had to fear him.
Back in his dorm, Chen Shu swallowed all seven Beast Taming Pearls. They had no particular taste and melted instantly in his mouth. His Beast Taming Power surged significantly, bringing him one step closer to becoming an eighth-rank Beast Tamer.
The higher the Beast Tamer rank, the harder it was to break through. Xu Xiaoyu came from a wealthy family, yet she'd been stuck at seventh-rank for months. Xu Xingxing was also only a seventh-rank Beast Tamer—unless his family wanted to spend tens of millions buying him Beast Taming Pearls. While Chen Shu was resting in his dorm, his phone suddenly rang.

"In September, your task is to learn flexible skill usage. Next month, I'll be taking you all into a Rift for training! Only by mastering your skills can you ensure your own safety!"

"Teacher Shen, I'll probably be sick tomorrow, so I'm taking a day off in advance. Note: This is a notice, not a discussion!"
