Ch. 1225 - Moon-Pluck Returns

“Sinful Abyss God Realm has always been a sect of corruption,” Ji Jiuning said coldly. “Their cultivation methods revolve around demonic essence, this isn’t surprising.”

“He’s not absorbing the demonic essence,” Xu Zimo frowned. “He’s channeling his own into the tower.”

“What is he trying to do?” Ji Jiuning asked.

“It doesn’t matter,” Xu Zimo said flatly. “What matters is that he’s here.”

With a flick of his wrist, his right hand formed a blade, limitless knife intent burst forth.

The Ghost Prince’s eyes shot open. Instantly, ghostly energy surged around him, clashing with Xu Zimo’s blade aura and scattering both into the wind.

The Ghost Prince looked down, and the entire Demonic Tower seemed to tremble under his gaze.

“Why do you disturb me?” he hissed, voice thin and sharp.

“What are you doing here?” Xu Zimo asked.

“It’s none of your concern,” the Ghost Prince said coolly. “Leave, or die.”

At the word die, an ocean of black mist erupted from his body. Countless screaming ghost heads emerged from it, diving down from the sky like a rain of the damned.

Xu Zimo said nothing. The god-blade, Shadow Tyrant, slid from its sheath, gleaming with killing intent, a silent answer.

The Ghost Prince sneered, spreading his hands. The demonic air thickened, twisting into legions of spectral skulls that dove toward them, each howling with hunger and madness.

“Spirit Fox Realm!” Ji Jiuning called, summoning her white fox, which leapt forward in a streak of silver light, shielding them both.

When the tide of demonic energy crashed down, Ji Jiuning coughed up blood from the strain, but she held her ground.

“He’s all yours,” Xu Zimo said calmly. “I’ll enter the tower.”

“That’s too dangerous,” Ji Jiuning protested.

“It’s not danger, it’s curiosity,” Xu Zimo replied, shaking his head.

With one great swing of Shadow Tyrant, half the sky split apart, the demonic mists burned away. Then he rushed straight into the Demonic Tower.

“Stop!” the Ghost Prince screamed.

Xu Zimo heard laughter and weeping echo at his ears, two ghostly infants lunged from the shadows, attacking his mind.

“A soul attack?” Xu Zimo sneered. “Begone.”

His Nine-Revolutions God-Tower Physique flared to life, and a surge of power shattered the two spirits into nothingness. He plunged deeper into the tower.

“Damn it,” the Ghost Prince cursed, rising to his feet. But before he could act, Ji Jiuning’s massive white fox lunged forward, forcing him into battle.

Inside the Demonic Tower, Xu Zimo had barely entered when a purple mist lunged at him.

He raised his blade, Boom! The impact hurled him into the wall.

Rubbing his shoulder, he looked up and saw that the mist had taken shape, a violet sphere with a distorted human face.

“A perfect body,” it hissed with a grin. “You’ll make a fine vessel for my consciousness.”

“Who are you?” Xu Zimo asked.

“Those who enter the Demonic Tower meet only death,” it said. “No need to ask about the past.”

As it spoke, the tower’s massive gate slammed shut behind Xu Zimo, sealing him in.

“Then let’s see what death looks like,” Xu Zimo replied, smiling faintly.

Shadow Tyrant roared to life, its blade aura shaking the air. Xu Zimo slashed again and again, each cut exploding like thunder.

The purple face screamed as its glow dimmed under the relentless assault.

“You won’t leave here alive!” it howled, retreating deeper into the tower.

But Xu Zimo’s blade flashed across the void, pinning it against the wall.

Just then, the sound of clapping echoed through the chamber.

“A thousand years… and finally, a newcomer,” a deep, mocking voice said.

A man stepped out from the shadows, draped in a red-and-yellow fur robe. Though he had a human face, two white tusks jutted from his mouth. His eyes were sunken, his nose sharp and high.

Before him sat a massive stone throne, upon which he lowered himself, smiling faintly.

“Welcome to the Western Demonic Tower.”

“I came to learn something,” Xu Zimo said coldly. “You have two choices, tell me willingly, or I’ll beat it out of you.”

“The new generation lacks manners,” the tusked man chuckled, clapping again.

The tower began to tremble, the walls splitting open. From the cracks crawled beasts of all kinds, Earth-Splitting Tigers, Azure Ice Beasts, Blood Thunder God Pythons, and even Celestial Silkworms.

Xu Zimo saw dozens of humanoid monsters gathering.

“Repeat what you just said,” the tusked man sneered.

Xu Zimo smiled. Shadow Tyrant gleamed coldly as he charged forward.

“Kill,” the tusked man ordered lazily, leaning back in his seat. Instantly, all the beasts roared and surged toward Xu Zimo.

The tower erupted into chaos.

Elsewhere, in a stretch of empty void within the battlefield realm…

The scholar in robes and the young boy stepped through the air.

“How long are we supposed to stay here?” the boy asked.

“Don’t ask,” the scholar said, shaking his head.

“The White Emperor...” the boy began, but his words cut off abruptly as his eyes widened.

Before them, a graceful figure appeared out of nowhere.

“Who are you?” the scholar asked, his aura sharpening with caution.

The woman slowly turned around, it was the Moon-Pluck Fairy.

She had vanished along with Miss Jing long ago.

Without answering, she produced a jade token and held it up for them to see.

“You... you’re...” the scholar stammered, dropping to his knees.

“Knowing is enough,” she said coldly. “No need to say it aloud.”

Her voice was devoid of emotion, crisp and distant.

“I came to deliver a message,” she continued. “The Demon has awakened.”

The scholar froze. “What? Awakened? Do you even realize what that means?”

“I don’t need your reminder,” she cut him off sharply. “Just obey the order. The rest is not for you to worry about.”

“Understood,” the scholar said, bowing low, his face flickering with unease.

When he looked up again, she was gone.
