I was among the vanguard, the one role that was closest to wandering boss location, which also meant the treasure chest should've been just within my reach, but Karua beat me to the punch.

Lana grumbled, though something I could resonate (?) with. After all, being rearguard meant they would almost always be late for treasure chest race (?). T-though it's another bizarre scenario that I was vanguard but I also got taken over.
Karua, the victor, turns to me, tilting her head with a look of pity.
"Zephyr, do you want to open it?"
"Ugh, I don't need your pity!"
...But maybe just a little bit wouldn't hurt? This particular chest was from a wandering boss. My heart was wavering!
"What are you two doing? How can you play this game over and over again without getting bored?"
"Sierra, want to open it?"

Even if we push to the final floor and defeat the boss, there's no guarantee a rare boss will appear, nor that it will drop a Golden Chest. And unfortunately, we didn't have time to repeat the boss fight until a drop appeared today. My classes running late messed things up.

Due to the equipment conditions, no one in our party could equip it. I was more compatible with preferred sword and shield, and Lana uses healing talismans, so she wouldn't use a staff anyway.
In the end, the staff became a souvenir.
I had previously given Mert the «Staff of Longevity Apple,» which dropped from the boss on the 20th floor of this dungeon. But afterward, he got eliminated in a confrontation against a member of «Temple Saber» in the guild battle, and I was also worried about his unchanging level and equipment. It was just the right time for it.
